Chapter 2: A Very Busy Physician

It was already midnight when Ruo Xuan finished with his work. He decided to take a walk before going to sleep. He put on a a thicker outer robe and stepped outside.

He started walking for awhile until he reached the mountains cliff side. He saw Guiying Fu leaning on a tree looking at the horizon. After a bit of thinking he decided to go up to him.

"Zongshi? What are you doing out this late?" Ruo Xuan asks Guiying Fu as he stepped closer to the mountains cliff side.

Guiying Fu got caught off guard but realized quickly it was Ruo Xuan, "Ah Gongzi, I could ask you the same thing." He smiles, "But to answer your question I couldn't sleep so I decided to take a walk around Jiang Mountain." He answered. "What about you? Why is Gongzi up this late?" He asks Ruo Xuan.

Ruo Xuan nods, "I just finished work and wanted to stretch my legs for a bit." Ruo Xuan answered.

Guiying Fu nods before noticcing Ruo Xuan is wearing a thicker robe. "Gongzi, why are you wearing a thicker robe? It's not exactly super cold outside." He asked.

Ruo Xuan looks up at Guiying Fu, "I get sick easily." He answered.

"Really? I thought Gongzi grew up on the mountain." "I didn't grew up on the mountain. I only moved here when I was 18." He explained.

Ruo Xuan was a skilled fighter, the reason he got the title Yufei Elder was because he fought bravely against a demon all by himself while being injured. But his biggest weakness has got to be the cold weather. He gets sick easily even if he steps out for a moment on a cold night.

"Ah, I see. Has Gongzi always been like this?" He questioned.

"Mn, I guess my body is just not made for cold weather." He answered.

A few moments of silence passed before Ruo Xuan spoke up, "Why exactly did you join Mount Jiang? I mean, there's way better sects than Mount Jiang. So why?" He asked Guiying Fu.

He looks back at Ruo Xuan, "That's a simple question to answer, I don't want to join a big sect. Even if people say I'm a perfect fit to join it." Guiying Fu answered.

"Why Mount Jiang exactly? I get you don't want to join a big sect, but why Mount Jiang?" He questioned Guiying Fu again.

Guiying Fu chuckled, "with how many questions you're asking, I'm starting to believe that Gongzi doesn't want me to join the sect." He covered his smile with his fan.

Ruo Xuan waved his hand his pale face turning slightly red, "N-no, Guiying- Zongshi got it wrong. It's just, I'm curious that's all." He said while rubbing the back of his head.

"Why not? I've heard many stories from my travels about Mount Jiang. It would be a shame to not take the opportunity." Guiying Fu closed his fan. "It's getting pretty late. I'll see you tomorrow Gongzi." Guiying Fu left Ruo Xuan alone at the cliff side.

Ruo Xuan watched as Guiying Fu leaves and turned his head to the horizon. He took a few minutes to stare at the stars and the mountains before returning to his home.

It has been a few days since Guiying Fu joined the sect. The sect leader announced it the day after his arrival. Guiying Fu joining the sect shocked everyone, and after that day he became very busy.

One day, while Ruo Xuan was crossing the bridge to the dining hall to eat breakfast he saw some deciples ready to cross it too. Two of the deciples were his own. Mei Xi and Hao Chen.

They were busy with themselves before noticing Ruo Xuan. "Gege!" "Shizun!" They both yell out running towards him smiles on their faces.

"Shizun, come on! Let's go to the dining hall before everythings gone!" Hao Chen yells out.

"Don't you two want to eat with your fellow disciples for a change? It must be quite boring having to eat with me all the time." He says while looking at his two disciples.

"And you eat alone again? Plus, it has been awhile since we ate together!" Mei Xi said cheerfully.

Ruo Xuan has a record of being feared by the disciples of Mount Jiang. Mostly because of his mysterious background and that he has a horrible temper. The disciples usually are very wary of him, scared they'll get yelled at or get punished by him. The only ones that has never been afraid of him are the only two disciples he has. They have always seen him as kind and gentle, And more like a family more than a teacher and disciple kind of relationship.

Ruo Xuan sighed, "alright, fine. You two win. Let's hurry and go to the dining hall." He said defeatedly.

Both Hao Chen and Mei Xi smiled and walked beside their teacher over to the dining hall.

Once they made it to the dining hall they all grabbed what they had to serve and took a seat at their usual table.

They were eating together, Mei Xi and Hao Chen started talking and Ruo Xuan listened. It wasn't long when Guiying Fu stepped into the dining hall.

"Who called me?" He asked. He was quickly escorted to the kitchen by one of the other chefs.

"You know... Now that I think of it. Guiying-Zongshi has been very busy since the sect leader anounced that he was joining the sect." Mei Xi said. "I barely had any work to do since he joined." Mei Xi continues.

"You're right, he has been really busy. Don't you think Gege?" Hao Chen asked Ruo Xuan who was finishing up his food.

"Mn, you two are right. I understand working hard but even at the paste he's working at he surely will get burned out soon. I even saw him running back and forth when I was taking a walk because I couldn't sleep. It didn't look like he had any sleep at all." Ruo Xuan answered.

Hao Chen speaks up, "If I remember correctly, he was the first person to actually discover a technique to revive people."

"I believe you're right." Mei Xi smiled. "But, if I heard correctly he hadn't mastered it yet." Mei Xi looks at Ruo Xuan who's listening to them talking. "Isn't it interesting Shizun? He found a technique to revive people from the dead!"

"Mn, it is quite interesting. To think that an actual person could learn a revival technique without using demonic cultivation. I wonder how he was able to figure out that technique." Ruo Xuan put his hand to his chin.

A few moments after Ruo Xuan stopped talking Guiying Fu walked out of the kitchen taking in a deep breath. He saw Ruo Xuan and his disciples eating and decided to approach them.

"Gongzi! I didn't expect that I'd meet you here." He smiled warmly looking at Ruo Xuan. "May I sit here?" He asked pointing at a seat next to Ruo Xuan.

"Yes, you may." Ruo Xuan answered. Guiying Fu smiles as he sat down next to him.

"I know it's none of my business but if you don't mind me asking, aren't you busy?" Hao Chen asked Guiying Fu.

Guiying Fu smiles weakly, "Yes actually, I'm very busy. I still have a lot on my list of duties to do actually. To specify about 37 other things I need to tend to." Guiying Fu closed his eyes as he sighed.

"Zongshi you shouldn't have to do all the work by yourself you know. We have other physicians in the sect, you shouldn't have to burn yourself out." Ruo Xuan spoke up.

Guiying Fu smiles weakly, "I was the one they wanted and requested." He closes his eyes and rubs the back of his neck. When he opened them his gaze landed on Mei Xi. "Hey, you're one of the greatest physicians on Mount Jiang right? I heard some stories about you in my travels."

Mei Xi smiles and waves his hands, "I wouldn't say 'greatest', I just study in medicine. I'm not that great. Also, where did you hear these rumors anyway Guiying Zongshi?" Mei Xi asks Guiying Fu.

Guiying Fu puts a hand in his chin, "If I recall it was a village named Fushe." Guiying Fu puts his hand on his lap, "They made you sound like a big deal. I thought you would be a bit older than 17, honestly." Guiying Fu smiles.

"Zongshi is giving me way too much praise. I'm not that great, they definitely over exaggerated it." Mei Xi replied to the enthusiastic Guiying Fu.

Guiying Fu scoffs standing up and putting a hand on Mei Xis shoulder, "You have potential kid. If you learn more ways to treat people, then I won't doubt you will be the next Guiying Zongshi." Guiying Fu smiles as he leaves, "I need to get back to my work. I'll see you around Gongzi." He waves to them before leaving the dining hall.

Mei Xi smiles hearing Guiying Fu saying that if he studies hard enough he could be the next Guiying Fu. He stood up and excused himself to leave the dining hall.

Hao Chen scowls when Mei Xi left, "He gets praised and noticed by the worlds greatest physician but I don't?" Hao Chen mumbled.

"Why don't you stop your scowling and train instead of complaining. Besides it makes sense, Mei Xi is an excellent physician, and they both have an interest in medicine. I doubt Guiying-Zongshi knows more than 7 sword techniques. He doesn't even carry a sword but a fan." Ruo Xuan replied to Hao Chens scowl.

Ruo Xuan stood up, "come, we're way behind schedule for both of your training."

Hao Chen nods, "Alright Gege."

Hao Chen and Ruo Xuan left the dining hall and started heading to the training grounds.

Chapter 2 is doneee! It's been awhileee. I literally said to myself that if I don't finish chapter 2 now I won't be able to open any apps besides notes and Pinterest (for tips). Well stay tuned for chapter 3!
