Chapter 8: I Leave My Illness to You

"Young Madam, what have you done to the Old Madam? Why is she coughing up blood?"

Xu Qi, upon seeing this, questioned Nan Yu with a disapproving tone in his voice, his eyes filled with concern for Chi Ying.

The driver sped up, frantically heading toward the hospital.

Nan Yu's expression remained unchanged as she steadied Chi Ying, "Grandma, does it still hurt?"

Chi Ying opened her cloudy, yellowed eyes, which were slowly regaining clarity, revealing a trace of confusion.

With shaky hands, she touched her forehead, "My head doesn't seem to be that painful anymore."

Indeed, there was a moment when she thought she had returned to the time before she fell ill.

Nan Yu stopped her from touching the Silver Needles and said softly, "Grandma, this can only temporarily relieve your pain. If you want to recover, you will need a three-month acupuncture treatment once a week, coupled with traditional Chinese medicine."

Upon hearing this, Chi Ying responded in disbelief, "Is there really a possibility for my chronic illness to be cured? Old Li had told me that my condition was incurable and at best, the pain could only be alleviated."

Pausing, she looked at Nan Yu with hope, "Xiao Yu, can you really cure me?"

Nan Yu replied without hesitation, "I can."

Xu Qi in front, hearing this, spoke up directly, "Young Madam, don't joke around. Old Li is the head of the Traditional Chinese Hospital and is renowned for his medical skills here and abroad; he even once cured someone on the brink of death."

"Even someone as formidable as he was at a loss with the Old Madam's illness, only able to alleviate the symptoms. How could you possibly cure her?"

As he said this, he turned to Chi Ying, "Old Madam, please hold on for twenty more minutes, we'll soon be at the hospital."

Chi Ying did not reply to Xu Qi, but instead, with a flicker in her eyes, looked at Nan Yu and said, trembling, "Xiao Yu, can you really do it?"

Nan Yu exuded confidence and smiled, "Grandma, if you trust me, I will definitely cure you."

Chi Ying clenched her fists, her face showing a struggle, but then thinking of her once clumsy and painful head that now felt relaxed and comfortable, she bit down on her teeth as if making a firm decision.

"Xiao Yu, I entrust my illness to you."

Then she said to Xu Qi, "Xu Qi, I'm fine now, no need to go to the hospital, let's go home."

Xu Qi wanted to say more, but when he caught Chi Ying's intense gaze in the rearview mirror, he immediately fell silent.

He then turned the car around and headed back to the ancestral home.

Upon reaching the ancestral home, he immediately sent a message to Old Li, asking him to come there.

As soon as Nan Yu got out of the car, before she could enter the house, her phone rang.

As soon as she answered, Song Yingqing's anxious voice came through,

"Xiao Yu, are you coming back soon? A strange and fierce-looking man has come looking for you and refuses to leave from the front door."

Nan Yu's face turned solemn, "Don't open the door, I'll be right back."

Song Yingqing whispered, "I'm calling you to make sure you don't come back. They look like debt collectors, probably here because of the debts your uncle has racked up gambling, all blamed on you. Coming back now would be like throwing yourself into the tiger's mouth."

"Don't worry about me. If they don't leave after a while, I'll call the police."

After saying this, she hung up the phone.

Nan Yu looked at her phone, silent for a moment, then clenched her fist and immediately went to speak to Chi Ying, "Grandma, I have an urgent matter to attend to and must leave now. I will come to have dinner with you some other day. Later, I will send the prescription to Uncle Xu, and you just need to take the medication according to schedule."

Seeing her urgency, Chi Ying quickly said, "Okay, Xu Qi, you take Xiao Yu back. If there is anything she needs help with, you take care of it."

Nan Yu refused with a smile, "Grandma, there's no need to trouble Uncle Xu, I can handle it."

Seeing this, Chi Ying did not insist any further but let out a sigh, "Then let the driver take you back. If you really can't handle it, give me a call and I'll send Xu Qi over."

Nan Yu had barely left when Old Li arrived.

Li Chongbai, with his hair flecked with white, hurried into the villa.

"Old Madam, I heard you had a relapse of your chronic condition. Didn't the medication from last time work?"

Upon seeing Li Chongbai, a flicker of surprise crossed Chi Ying's eyes, and she smiled, "It was Xu Qi who asked you to come, right? I'm fine now, my granddaughter-in-law applied acupuncture and even said she could cure my illness."

Li Chongbai saw that she appeared lively and did not seem to be in pain at all.

Hearing the words about a cure, he was even more astonished as if hearing a fairytale.

"Old Madam, are you sure you're not joking?"

At that moment, Xu Qi timely interjected, "The Young Madam did say so, and here is the prescription she just sent over."

Li Chongbai, upon seeing the prescription handed to him, furrowed his brows and read it from top to bottom. Reaching the end, he was so shocked that he stood rooted to the spot.

"This prescription, isn't it...?"

Suddenly, his gaze landed on the box of Silver Needles in Xu Qi's hand. His pupils constricted sharply, and his hands shaking, he took the box and examined it closely.

He exclaimed, "Aren't these Silver Needles from the Ghost Doctor who passed away two years ago?"

"I remember this box of needles; I personally placed them by his side, buried with him. How could they end up here?"
