Aurelia raised one perfectly arched brow at Elara, her honey-colored eyes narrowing slightly. She tugged her wrist free—not harshly, but firmly, as though she wanted to remind Elara not to overstep too far. Folding her arms, she leaned casually against a nearby tree, her bored expression back in place.
"You're nosy for someone who claims they weren't going to ask," Aurelia said dryly.
Elara bristled, but she refused to back down. "You practically handed us the hint on a silver platter. I wouldn't ask if it weren't important."
Aurelia tilted her head, her expression unreadable for a long moment. Her lips pressed into a thin line, and then, to Elara's surprise, she leaned closer, dropping her voice into something almost conspiratorial.
