Life Gallery 8 - The Eagle's Scheme

Scene: Call of the Eagle

INT. ST. ALARIC ACADEMY – SUPERPOWER BRANCH TRAINING GROUNDS – EARLY MORNING

The early morning sunlight filters through the trees surrounding the academy's training grounds, casting long shadows over the well-worn dirt paths. The rhythmic sounds of footsteps and labored breathing fill the air as Hugo, Shizuka, and Fenix go through their usual training routine. Shizuka leads the way, her movements sharp and precise, while Hugo trails slightly behind, sweat pouring down his face as he struggles to keep up.

Hugo (panting, out of breath): "Shizuka… slow down a bit! I'm still… recovering from last time."

Shizuka (laughing, not breaking stride): "That's the point, Hugo! Push through it. Control starts with knowing your limits and then breaking them!"

Hugo forces himself to match her pace, though every muscle in his body burns. Fenix, trailing slightly behind them both, yawns dramatically, clearly less enthusiastic about the physical side of training.

Fenix (teasing, between yawns): "You two are exhausting just to watch. Vampires aren't made for this early morning nonsense. Shouldn't I be moonbathing or something?"

Before Hugo can respond, a sharp voice cuts through the air.

Voice (authoritative, but calm): "Hugo Gentoshi. You've been summoned."

Hugo turns sharply, stopping in his tracks. A figure in a neatly pressed academy uniform stands at the edge of the training grounds, holding a sealed envelope bearing the academy's emblem. His stern face shows no emotion, but the weight of the message is clear.

Hugo (confused, catching his breath): "Summoned? By who?"

The official steps forward, extending the envelope.

Official: "By Wilhelm Königsberg. You are to meet him immediately. Guess Lounge."

Hugo's eyes widen. Shizuka and Fenix exchange a glance, concern flashing between them.

Shizuka (frowning): "Wilhelm? What does he want with Hugo?"

The official doesn't answer, merely inclining his head slightly before turning to leave. The envelope remains in Hugo's hand, a silent invitation—or command—that feels heavier than it should.

Fenix (casually, but with a hint of worry):

"Seems like you've caught the Eagle's eyes, dear Cyclop."

Hugo stares at the envelope, his heart pounding. He had heard whispers about Wilhelm's interest in promising students, but why now? Why him?

Hugo (nervously, looking at Shizuka and Fenix): "What do you think this is about? I'm not even fully in control of my power yet…"

Shizuka (serious, placing a hand on his shoulder): "Eagle Step… one of the top guilds in our country, but their reputation lately is a bit..."

Fenix (darkly, finishing the thought): "They are the reason we have these protests. Whatever it is, be careful, dear Cyclop. Don't let the eagle eat your liver."

EXT. GUESS LOUNGE – MID-MORNING

Hugo approaches the Guess Lounge, the luxurious surroundings and imposing atmosphere making him feel even smaller as he steps through the gate. Wilhelm Königsberg stands by one of the plush seats, his piercing eyes already locked onto Hugo as if he'd been waiting.

Wilhelm (smiling, his tone calm but with an underlying edge): "Hugo Gentoshi. You've arrived. Good morning."

Hugo's chest tightens as Wilhelm gestures for him to sit. He hesitates but complies, the tension rising with every second. Wilhelm's gaze remains fixed on him, sharp and calculating.

Hugo (nervously): "Good morning, sir. May I know why you called me here?"

Wilhelm leans forward slightly, his smile growing more pronounced, his words smooth and deliberate.

Wilhelm (smoothly): "Well, you may not remember me but I was one of the people who watched you in your first fight against the Sea Witch… So sad that you lost but You have a gift, Hugo. And I want it to grow."

Hugo (stun): "I… I…"

Hugo (thinking): "Did this guy really think I have potential? Can I really become someone?"

The tension in the air grows thicker as Wilhelm's words sink into Hugo's mind. His heart beats faster, unsure of what to make of this sudden attention. The luxurious surroundings feel distant now, as all of Hugo's focus is on the man sitting across from him.

Wilhelm (leaning back slightly, his eyes sharp but his tone almost friendly): "You may not see it now, Hugo, but I've seen countless students with potential—people like you. They start out uncertain, stumbling, much like your first fight. But the difference between those who succeed and those who don't?" (pauses, smiling slightly) "It's all about control."

Hugo shifts uncomfortably in his seat, memories of his chaotic black flames flashing through his mind. The sensation of losing control, of the power slipping from his grasp, still haunts him.

Hugo (hesitant, still unsure): "I… I know my power is strong, but it's dangerous. I've hurt people before. I… I'm not like the others."

Wilhelm's smile softens, but there's a gleam in his eye. He leans in slightly, his voice dropping to a low, almost conspiratorial tone.

Wilhelm (playing into Hugo's insecurity): "Ah, but that's where you're wrong, Hugo. Your power—those flames—are what set you apart. You see, raw power like yours is rare. It's untamed, yes, but think about this…" (pauses) "Ludociel Vanderbilt, the Queen of St. Alaric Academy. Do you know her story?"

Hugo's eyes widened slightly, surprised by the name.

Hugo (curious): "Ludociel? She's… the second strongest in the academy, right?"

Wilhelm (nodding, his voice smooth and persuasive): "Exactly. But did you know that once, even Ludociel couldn't control her power? She was a danger to herself and everyone around her. People feared her, much like they fear you." (pauses, watching Hugo's reaction closely) "But with the right guidance, she mastered her abilities. Now, look at her—a force to be reckoned with."

Hugo feels a flicker of hope deep inside. The idea that someone as powerful as Ludociel once struggled like he does… It makes him wonder if there's a way out of the darkness that surrounds his flames.

Hugo (tentatively, almost to himself): "She… couldn't control it either?"

Wilhelm (leaning back, his smile widening): "That's right. But she learned, just as you will. With the right training, with the support of Eagle Step, you can become just like her—no, even stronger." (his voice drops to a whisper) "You don't have to be afraid of your power anymore, Hugo. You can embrace it, control it… master it."

The words hit Hugo hard, stirring something deep inside him. Control. Mastery. The very things he's been chasing, but never able to fully grasp.

Hugo (hopeful, but still uncertain): "Do you really think I could… become like her?"

Wilhelm (nodding, his tone filled with confidence): "Without a doubt.

Hugo's heart races, the temptation pulling at him stronger now. The idea of finally mastering his power, of not being a danger to those around him, is almost too good to resist. But there's still a flicker of doubt lingering in the back of his mind.

Wilhelm (calmly): "I will give you some time. Think about my offer, alright. Think of it as an opportunity."

Hugo (hopeful but uncertain): "Alright…"

Scene: Crossroads of Power

INT. ST. ALARIC ACADEMY – SUPERPOWER BRANCH TRAINING GROUNDS – LATE MORNING

The protests outside St. Alaric Academy has grown louder and louder everyday, with students holding signs and chanting slogans denouncing Eagle Step. The air is thick with tension as more students gather, their voices rising in anger. Hugo walks through the crowd, feeling the weight of Wilhelm's offer pressing heavily on his mind.

Protesters (chanting):

"Down with corruption!

No more looting hunters!"

Hugo pauses as one of the protesters, a tall, lanky boy with glasses, notices him watching and approaches with a look of recognition. His hand is clutching a stack of papers, his expression a mix of frustration and exhaustion.

Student (serious, but trying to get Hugo's attention): "Hey, you! You're that cyclop? The one who fought in the stadium the other day?"

Hugo nods hesitantly, unsure of what to say.

Hugo (awkward): "Uh, yeah. That's me."

The student's eyes narrow slightly, his gaze sweeping over Hugo as if trying to gauge where he stands.

Student (skeptical): "You think you're gonna join them? Eagle Step? You think they're gonna help you?"

Hugo shifts uncomfortably, the weight of Wilhelm's offer hanging over him.

Hugo (curious, but wary): "Why does everyone hate Eagle Step so much? I mean… aren't they one of the top guilds?"

The student lets out a bitter laugh, shaking his head.

Student (angry, but with conviction): "Top guild, sure. But at what cost? You don't know what they do, do you?"

He shoves a few sheets of paper into Hugo's hands—a stack of reports filled with accusations, testimonies, and evidence. Headlines like "Eagle Step's Exploitation of Lower-Tier Hunters" and "The Guild That Robs Its Own" catch Hugo's eye.

Student (continuing): "They steal from their own! The higher-ups in Eagle Step, they make the weaker hunters give up their loot—forcing them into debt. The lower ranks are treated like cannon fodder, while the elites sit back and take all the spoils."

Hugo's hands tighten around the papers as his eyes scan the damning words. The stories of hunters losing everything, being betrayed by the very guild that was supposed to protect them. A pit forms in his stomach.

Hugo (unsure, quietly): "That… can't be true, right? Why would Wilhelm offer me a spot if—"

Student (cutting him off, his voice hardening): "Because you're powerful. You have an S-ranked superpower, right? They want to use you—like they use everyone else. They'll promise you control, fame, money… whatever you want. But in the end, it's all for them. You'll just be another weapon in their arsenal."

The student walks away, leaving Hugo standing alone with the reports clutched in his hands. His mind races as doubt creeps in, the weight of the papers feeling heavier with every passing second. He glances up at the protesters, their voices rising in unison against Eagle Step.

INT. ST. ALARIC ACADEMY – SUPERPOWER BRANCH CLASSROOM – EVENING

Hugo sits at one of the desks, staring at the papers spread out in front of him, his thoughts swirling in confusion. Shizuka and Fenix sit across from him, watching his troubled expression. The light in the room is dim, the quiet murmur of students in the halls fading into the background.

Shizuka (curious but concerned): "You've been quiet since this morning. What's going on?"

Hugo glances at the reports in front of him, hesitating. He doesn't want to worry them, but the doubt gnaws at him.

Hugo (hesitant): "I… I don't know what to do. Wilhelm offered me a spot in Eagle Step, said he could help me control my power. But then I heard what people were saying… I got these reports from the protesters. They say Eagle Step is corrupt, that they steal from their own hunters."

He slides the papers across the desk, letting Shizuka and Fenix look at them. Shizuka's eyes widen as she reads, while Fenix remains calm, his expression unreadable.

Fenix (quiet, thoughtful): "Well, that certainly puts a damper on the Eagle's majestic image, doesn't it?"

Shizuka frowns, her brow furrowed as she processes the information.

Shizuka (serious): "If even half of this is true, then joining Eagle Step could be dangerous."

Hugo (exasperated): "But I don't know what else to do! I need control over my power. If I can't master it, then what's the point? I'll always be dangerous, a threat to everyone around me."

Fenix leans forward, his crimson eyes studying Hugo carefully.

Fenix (calm, but firm): "Control isn't something you can buy, dear Cyclop. Not from Wilhelm, not from anyone. It's something you have to earn, through training, through time. If you rush into this, thinking Eagle Step will magically fix everything, you might end up losing more than you gain."

Shizuka nods in agreement, her gaze softening as she looks at Hugo.

Shizuka (gentle): "You've already come so far, Hugo. You don't need them to get stronger. You have us. We'll help you, just like we always have. Don't let Wilhelm's offer blind you to the truth."

Hugo stares at his friends, their words sinking in, but the uncertainty still lingers. He wants to believe them, but the temptation of Wilhelm's promise is hard to shake.

Hugo (quietly, conflicted): "I don't want to hurt anyone again… I just want to be in control."

Scene: Weekend Kidnapping

INT. HUGO'S APARTMENT – NIGHT

It's the weekend, and Hugo eagerly returns to the small apartment he shares with his big brother, Andrea. After an intense first week at the superpower branch, Hugo feels a strange warmth in his chest—something he hadn't felt in a long time. The academic branch had been cold, calculated, and suffocating, but the superpower branch was different. It was brutal, yes, but also vibrant and alive.

As Hugo steps inside the apartment, he pauses, noticing the eerie silence. The usual hum of life that Andrea brought with him is absent. The apartment is dark and lifeless.

Hugo (confused, softly): "Big brother...is still working?"

The usual comforting presence of Andrea is absent, and Hugo's stomach churns with unease. He pulls out his phone, ready to call his brother, but instead of Andrea's familiar voice, a stranger's voice answers.

Unknown Voice (mocking, sinister): "Oh... and here I thought no one would remember this poor bastard."

Hugo's blood runs cold. He grips the phone tightly, his pulse quickening.

Hugo (riled up): "What? Who are you?! Where's Andrea?!"

Unknown Voice (laughing): "Sold him off. Far away, kid. Maybe to Africa… who knows."

Hugo's heart races. He tightens his grip on the phone, his voice shaking.

Hugo (panicked): "No, no! Tell me where he is! You can't—"

The line goes dead.

Hugo stands there, the silence of the apartment now deafening. His breath comes in shallow bursts as he realizes what's happening. Andrea—his big brother, the one person who's always been there—has been taken. Without wasting another second, Hugo bolts out the door, dark flames flickering to life around him as panic sets in.

INT. LYSANDER'S APARTMENT – NIGHT

Hugo arrives at Lysander's pristine apartment, storming in without warning. Lysander lounges on his couch, Angela nearby reading a magazine, Alexei and Floria leaning against the counter kissing, all dressed in casual attire, relaxed.

Hugo (desperate, shouting): "Big brother! Big brother Andrea's been taken! You have to help me!"

Floria pulled away from Alexei, startled by Hugo's frantic entrance.

Floria (stunned): "What the–."

Alexei (excited with anger): "Oh hello, there, bastard."

He moved to grab a spear, his body tense, ready to charge at Hugo. But Floria quickly grabbed his arm, stopping him.

Floria (soft): "Babe, don't..."

Lysander (calm, calculated): "Hugo… It seems that you do not understand the meaning of the word 'exile', do you?"

Angela glanced up from her magazine, her gaze cold.

Angela (soft yet cold): "We're not interested in your problems. Leave."

Hugo (desperate, frustrated): "Ugh!!"

Hugo's fists clenched at his sides, his whole body shaking with frustration. The coldness in their eyes, their indifference—it was almost unbearable. But this wasn't about him. This was about Andrea, his big brother.

Hugo (desperate, sad): "It was about big brother Andrea… He is in danger" He lowers his voice but he has catched the family's attention.

Lysander (raised an eyebrow): "Big brother is in danger?"

Hugo: (desperate, barely holding it together) "Yes! Someone took him. I don't know who... they said they sold him off. I need help finding him, Big brother Lysander. Please!"

His voice broke on the last word. He hadn't wanted to beg, but there was no pride left to hold onto. Not when his brother's life was at stake.

Lysander exchanged a glance with Angela. The tension in the room was thick, the air heavy with the weight of old wounds. But despite their anger toward Hugo, this was about Andrea—the brother they all cared for.

Angela (soft, yet cunning): "You've been cast out, Hugo. You know that. We're not supposed to involve ourselves in your problems." She looks at him for a moment before adding, more softly, "But Andrea... that's different."

Alexei's grip on the spear loosens slightly. His confident smirk fades as a more serious expression settles on his face. His loyalty to Andrea surpasses his distaste for Hugo.

Alexei: (gritting his teeth) "If they've hurt him... they'll pay for it."

Lysander (calm): "First, how did you know about Andrea's kidnap?"

Hugo pulls out his phone, fumbling with it before showing the number. Lysander takes a look, his eyes narrowing as he recognizes the number.

Lysander (grinning slightly, calculating): "Ah… So the kidnapper is stupid enough to keep the phone of their victim? Amateur."

He walked over to his desk and pulled out his tablet, his fingers flying across the screen as he linked Andrea's social media, tracking down his last known location.

Hugo stood there, watching, his breath coming in shallow gasps. This was it. Lysander was going to help. The family had ignored him, pushed him aside, but right now... maybe, just maybe, they would save Andrea.

After a few tense moments, Lysander looked up, satisfaction on his face.

Lysander (smirking, satisfied): "Got it. An abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city—"

Just as Lysander finished speaking, Hugo snatched the tablet from his hands, not waiting for more. Without a word, he sprinted out the door, dark flames igniting around him as he bolted into the night, his desperation fueling his speed.

Lysander (growling): "Bastard. He took my tablet!!"

Angela (quietly looking at Lysander): "We're going after him, right?"

Alexei with fire in his eyes "What are you even waiting for? Let's go!!"

Scene: The Warehouse Showdown

EXT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE – NIGHT

The dark warehouse looms ahead of Hugo, a place that feels like it's holding its breath. The surrounding area is quiet, too quiet. Hugo's heart pounds in his chest as he steps toward the entrance, his hand clenched tightly at his side.

Hugo (determined, whispering to himself): "I'm going to save you, big brother."

He steps inside, the warehouse swallowing him whole.

Unknown Voice (high-pitched, eerie): "Oh? Someone's here."

The sinister voice from the phone echoes through the darkness, making Hugo's skin crawl. His eyes narrow as he remembers the call, the mocking tone.

Hugo (angry, voice rising): "You... you're the one who took Andrea!"

The shadow of a figure begins to form, moving like liquid darkness. It's impossible to make out any features, just a tall humanoid shape made of black smoke and shadow.

Unknown Voice (mocking): "How interesting... Maybe you can entertain me for a bit."

Hugo (with rage): "Fire Pea!"

A small black fireball appears in Hugo's palm and shoots forward with blazing speed. The fireball slices through the air, heading straight for the shadow.

Hugo (thinking): "I learn this from Fenix's blood arrow"

Unknown Voice (laughing): "Is that all you've got?"

Hugo watches, eyes wide, as the shadowy figure moves through the fireball with ease, a gust of wind following in its wake. The fireball fizzles out in midair, unable to reach its target.

Hugo (thinking, panicked): "That should have hit... How did—"

Suddenly, a razor-sharp wind blade shoots toward Hugo, forcing him to conjure flames beneath his feet, launching him into the air. The blade slices through the warehouse door, leaving a deep gash.

Hugo (alarmed): "A wind blade?!"

Unknown Voice (amused): "Hell Blaze... The newest S-ranked power, huh? Too bad for you... I possess something you can't burn—argon air."

The shadow figure raises its hand, conjuring multiple argon blades that hurtle toward Hugo. He dodges each one, but the pressure is mounting.

Hugo (gritting his teeth): "Argon blades, huh?"

He remembers his fight with Shizuka and the precision of her water snakes.

Hugo (thinking, determined): "These are nothing compared to hers."

With a burst of flame, Hugo propels himself forward, firing a barrage of small fireballs, each one faster than the last.

Unknown Voice (mocking): "I told you—argon air can't burn."

The fireballs explode harmlessly against the swirling argon cyclone, but something strange happens. The shadow figure winces as the air begins to heat up.

Unknown Voice (shocked): "What?! How—"

Hugo (grinning): "Argon air might not burn, but it sure as hell can't handle the heat."

He conjures a large fireball in his hand, preparing for his next attack.

Hugo (shouting): "Snapdrag—"

But before he can finish, a wave of panic washes over him. The fireball in his hand sputters, and suddenly he's back in the past—back to the moment he lost control.

Hugo (panicking, voice cracking): "No... no... not again..."

The fire flickers dangerously in his hands, the black flames swelling and spiraling out of control.

Unknown Voice (mocking, triumphant): "So that's the true power of an S-ranked ability... Too bad for you, though—victory is mine."

Just as the shadow figure prepares another attack, a booming voice interrupts.

Wilhelm (booming): "You're not doing anything!"

Wilhelm appears behind Hugo, moving faster than the eye can track. With one powerful punch, he sends the shadowy figure flying out of the warehouse, crashing through the wall.

Hugo (weak, dazed): "Mr. Wilhelm...? You have to run... I can't..."

Wilhelm (firmly): "Stop that."

Hugo (voice trembling): "I... I'm losing control again..."

Before Hugo can spiral further, a woman steps into the warehouse. Her presence is almost calming, her white hair flowing around her, her pink dress standing out against the darkness.

Allenstein (calmly): "He's losing control, master."

Wilhelm (nodding):

"Allenstein Domnau, can you help him?"

She approaches Hugo, gently placing a hand on his cheek. The moment she touches him, Hugo feels a strange, almost soothing sensation wash over him.

Hugo (confused, dazed): "What is this...?"

Allenstein (softly, reassuring): "You've done enough. We will help you now. Just relax."

Wilhelm (calm, but with an edge): "Allenstein Domnau is one of our finest. Her ability stabilizes those with untamed power... like yours, Hugo."

Hugo's vision blurs as the world around him begins to fade. The panic, the chaos—it all starts to melt away under Allenstein's touch.

Allenstein (whispering): "Rest. We'll handle the rest."

Hugo's eyes flutter closed, and the last thing he hears before he drifts into unconsciousness is the calming sound of Allenstein's voice.

Scene: Eagle Guilt

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM – DAY

The soft beeping of machines echoes through the sterile, white-walled room. The sunlight filters in through the window, casting long shadows across the floor. Hugo stirs, his body aching as he slowly regains consciousness. The scent of antiseptic fills his nostrils, reminding him where he is—he's in a hospital.

His vision is blurry at first, but soon, shapes come into focus. A familiar figure sits at the edge of his bed, watching over him. Andrea.

Andrea (softly, full of emotion): "Hugo... thank God. You're awake."

Hugo stirs, his body heavy, but the guilt that weighs on him is even heavier. He remembers everything—the fight, the warehouse, losing control again. His chest tightens as the shame creeps up.

Hugo (weakly, voice trembling): "Big brother... you're okay?"

Andrea squeezes Hugo's hand gently, the worry in his eyes fading into a soft smile.

Andrea (reassuring, trying to hide his own fear): "Yeah... I'm fine. All thanks to you, little brother."

But Hugo can't shake the overwhelming guilt. He remembers how close he came to hurting Andrea—how close he came to letting his power run wild again. Just as he begins to sit up, the door creaks open, and Wilhelm, Allenstein, and Memel enter the room.

Wilhelm (calm, smiling slightly): "Good to see you awake, Hugo."

Hugo's gaze shifts from his brother to the figures at the door. His mind flashes back to the chaos in the warehouse, to Wilhelm stepping in and saving him—saving Andrea. Without them, without Eagle Step, the outcome could have been far worse.

Hugo (nervously): "Mr. Wilhelm...? What happened?"

Before Wilhelm can answer, Memel speaks up, his gruff voice cutting through the tension.

Memel (bluntly): "We found your brother lying in that warehouse. So we brought him here."

The words hit Hugo like a punch to the gut. He failed to save Andrea on his own. Without Eagle Step, Andrea could have been hurt—he could have died. Hugo's hands tremble slightly as he processes it all. The guilt grows, twisting inside him like a knife.

Hugo (thinking, guilt-ridden): "I almost... I could have..."

His thoughts spiral as memories of losing control flood his mind. The sensation of his power slipping away, the fear that he might hurt someone again—it's too much. His eyes dart to Andrea, who's watching him with concern.

Andrea (gently, noticing Hugo's distress): "Hugo, it's okay. You didn't hurt me. You tried to save me."

But Hugo can't shake the feeling of failure. His chest tightens, and his eyes fall to the floor. He knows that, without Wilhelm and his team, things could have ended very differently. His power is too dangerous. Too unpredictable.

Wilhelm steps closer, his voice calm and reassuring, but there's a weight to his words—a weight that presses down on Hugo's insecurities.

Wilhelm (smoothly): "Hugo, you don't need to do this alone. What happened last night wasn't your fault—it's your power. You're still learning to control it. And that's exactly why we're here. You have potential, and with the right guidance, you can master that power."

Hugo looks up at Wilhelm, the temptation tugging at him. Mastering his power—finally gaining control—that's all he's ever wanted. But the fear of losing control again, of hurting Andrea, or anyone, gnaws at him.

Hugo (voice trembling): "But... what if I lose control again? What if I hurt someone? I... I can't do this alone."

Wilhelm's smile softens, but his eyes gleam with satisfaction. He knows he's got Hugo where he wants him. He leans in slightly, his voice dropping to a soothing tone.

Wilhelm (softly): "Do not worry."

As he speaks, Wilhelm wraps his arm around Allenstein's shoulder.

Wilhelm (softly): "Eagle Step has more than enough expertise and resources to help you. Like, Miss Allenstein here. You remember her, right? Last night, she stabilized your power."

Hugo's eyes shine while looking at the woman next to Wilhelm. His heart races as Wilhelm's words sink in. The promise of control, of mastering his flames instead of fearing them—it's everything he's been searching for. For the first time, a flicker of hope burns within him. But there's still the lingering fear, the doubt gnawing at him.

Hugo (hesitant, but tempted): "You... really think I can do it? Control my power?"

Wilhelm smiles, his voice full of confidence and persuasion.

Wilhelm (nodding): "Without a doubt."

Hugo glances at Andrea, who nods, his expression serious but supportive.

Andrea (softly, but with conviction): "Hugo... do what you think is good. I'll always support you."

The weight of his brother's trust, combined with Wilhelm's promise, pulls Hugo toward a decision. The guilt, the fear, the longing for control—it all pushes him toward one conclusion. He clenches his fists, taking a deep breath.

Hugo (finally, with determination): "Alright... I'll join Eagle Step."

Wilhelm's smile widens, satisfaction gleaming in his eyes. He steps forward, placing a hand on Hugo's shoulder.

Wilhelm (smoothly, but with an underlying edge): "You've made the right choice, Hugo. Welcome to Eagle Step."

Hugo nods, his heart pounding. For the first time in a long while, he feels like he's taken a step forward—toward control, toward power.

Scene: The Eagle's Scheme

INT. EAGLE STEP HEADQUARTERS – PRIVATE OFFICE – NIGHT

The darkened office is bathed in the cold glow of moonlight filtering through the large window. Wilhelm Königsberg sits behind his massive desk, a twisted smile pulling at the corners of his mouth. Memel and Allenstein stand before him, both watching him with a mixture of curiosity and caution.

Wilhelm (twisted smile): "Hugo Gentoshi... the little demon. He's finally ours."

Allenstein (softly, with intrigue): "You seem to be enjoying yourself, master. Is it going as planned?"

Memel (bluntly, crossing his arms): "So you plan to take that demonic-eyed boy as leverage against the GGG? Don't you fear they'll counterattack? The Gentoshi family isn't just going to stand by."

Wilhelm (still smiling, coldly): "Counterattack? What can they do, Memel? They've already abandoned him like discarded trash. They left him to spiral out of control, and I swooped in like a hero to save him."

Memel (sighs, frustrated): "So what's the next move? Are you planning to parade him as a witness, expose the Gentoshi family for casting out one of their own, and then use that as leverage to bleed more weapons from them? Fix our guild's image in the process?"

Wilhelm (shakes his head, laughing): "Tch, tch, tch... Memel, your intelligence matches your height."

Memel (a bit angry): "Excuse you?"

Wilhelm stands, walking slowly around the desk with his hands clasped behind his back. His tone shifts from amusement to anger, and the energy in the room changes with it.

Wilhelm (voice darkening): "Acquiring Hugo is merely the first step. I don't want just leverage. I want to drag the entire Gentoshi family down. Gold Gigant Garment—those arrogant bastards have sat in safety for too long, while we fight on the frontlines. We risk our lives, and they—" (his fists clench) "—get to pull the strings because of their wealth and mass-produced weapons?"

The mention of GGG ignites a fire in Memel's eyes. He remembers the pride of his dwarven kin, their reputation as master smiths, trampled under GGG's ability to mass produce inferior weapons.

Memel (furious, voice rising): "GGG... those cowards! Their 'weapons' are an insult to smiths like my clan, yet they crush us because they can churn them out like garbage!"

Wilhelm (nodding, his grin widening): "Exactly. They've profited off the backs of real warriors, and I won't stand for it any longer. Once Hugo is fully under our control, he will be our weapon—against GGG and against the Gentoshi family."

Wilhelm turns his gaze to Allenstein, his expression calculated once more.

Wilhelm (smoothly): "Allenstein, from now on, I want you to get close to him. Ingratiate yourself with that demonic-eyed boy. Make him believe in our cause, in our way of doing things. Sway him to our values."

Allenstein (nodding, with a calm smile): "Yes, master. I'll guide him toward our way of thinking."

Wilhelm seems satisfied, leaning back against his desk, his arms folded across his chest.

Wilhelm (darkly, thinking aloud): "It won't take much. He's desperate for control, for belonging. Once we have him fully convinced, the Gentoshi family will fall... and Eagle Step will rise."

A beat passes, and Wilhelm's gaze sharpens.

Wilhelm (suddenly, with curiosity): "Speaking of, where is Arys? I expected him to report back by now."

Scene: The Court's Interrogation

INT. INTERROGATION ROOM – NIGHT

The room is illuminated by an oppressive, glaring yellow light that makes even opening one's eyes a chore. The air is heavy with the scent of wood and metal, amplifying the tension in the room. In the center is Arys Balten, his limbs stretched outward, bound tightly by thick, twisting tree roots and vines. The bark of the trees digs into his wrists and ankles, their gnarled textures rough and unforgiving against his skin. His arms are pulled taut above his head, each wrist shackled to a separate tree by the living wood, while his legs are spread wide, roots coiling around his ankles, pinning them to the ground.

Lysander stands off to the side, his eyes cold and calculating as he observes the prisoner, speaking with a calm, almost clinical tone.

Lysander (calm, but with quiet intensity): "Arys Balten... Werechameleon. Can alter your body's colors to blend with your surroundings... and B-ranked argon air manipulation. Top hunter of Eagle Step. Thief class."

Lysander's voice is steady as he flicks through a tablet, reading off Arys' file. A moment passes before he glances up, locking eyes with the struggling prisoner. Across from him, Angela leans against the wall, her ever-present smile as cold as ice.

Alexei (mocking, smirking): "Who would've thought the top of the Thief class could be so weak and pathetic?"

EXT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE – NIGHT – FLASHBACK

As soon as the shadowy figure darted out of the warehouse, stripes of multicolored hues rippled across his skin. They settled into a camouflage before forming into a solid blue hue—Arys Balten, now fully visible. He managed to get his bearings for only a second before a whirlwind of movement overtook him.

Arys (groaning): "Master's punch... brutal as ever."

Before he could recover, a deep orange hair boy shot forward, his fist slamming into Arys' abdomen with terrifying speed and precision. The force knocked the air from Arys' lungs, and before he knew it, darkness consumed him.

Alexei (calmly): "You thought that was brutal? You have no idea what's coming."

Multiple tree trunks erupted from the ground, wrapping themselves around the unconscious Arys, binding him tightly in place.

Floria (softly, after a moment): "He's all yours."

INT. INTERROGATION ROOM – NIGHT – CURRENT TIME

Arys groans in his bindings, his bruised body twitching with every labored breath. Angela steps closer, her voice carrying a deceptive sweetness.

Angela (smiling): "For the top of the Thief class, I expected more... subtlety in your escape."

Alexei stands over Arys, his smirk widening as he observes the bound man.

Alexei (grinning, mocking): "Your color-changing chameleon tricks? Pathetic. Compared to my sister, you're nothing."

Angela chuckles lightly, running her fingers through her hair as she watches Arys squirm under their scrutiny. The man before them, once proud, is now a broken shell of fear and desperation. His breaths come in short gasps, the panic in his voice clear as he tries to muster the courage to speak.

Arys (panting, voice shaky): "What... do you want... I've told you... everything..."

His voice cracks as he searches their faces, desperately looking for mercy. But there's none to be found. Lysander steps forward, his expression unreadable, cold. He speaks with a casual detachment, almost as if discussing something trivial.

Lysander (coldly): "You've told us all you know. Which means you're worthless to us now. Trash like you... deserves far worse."

Arys' heart races, and fear flashes across his face. He knows what's coming.

Arys (desperate, panting): "Wait... wait... Wilhelm... he's the mastermind! I swear... I don't know more... he orchestrated everything!"

His breathing becomes more ragged, his eyes wide as they flicker between the people in front of him. He knows his words may buy him a few more moments, but nothing more.

Lysander remains unmoved, though his eyes narrow slightly at the mention of Wilhelm. He leans down, his voice barely above a whisper, but every word drips with venom.

Lysander (softly, dangerous): "You think we didn't know that already?"

Angela steps forward, her presence casting a shadow over Arys. Her smile fades as she crouches down beside him, her hand gently resting on the bound man's shoulder, but her grip is firm.

Angela (softly, but with a deadly edge): "The moment you laid your filthy hands on our brother, you sealed your fate. Wilhelm may have given the order, but you're the one who carried it out."

Arys trembles under her touch, the terror fully settling in. His voice cracks again, this time with pure desperation.

Arys (begging, broken): "Please... please, I had no choice... it was orders, I... I—"

Before he can finish, Alexei's fist slams into his face, knocking several teeth loose. Arys lets out a muffled groan, his head snapping to the side, blood dripping from his mouth.

Alexei (grinning, standing over him): "Damn, that felt good. I've never knocked someone's teeth out before. New experience."

Floria steps forward now, her voice soft but laced with contempt.

Floria (softly): "Babe, stop. Can't we think of something besides just beating him up?"

Angela (softly, with deadly certainty): "We're not letting him go. If we release him, he'll run straight to Wilhelm. The only solution is to make sure he never talks again. But first..." (her smile darkens) "we'll have some fun."

Arys' eyes widened in panic, a chill running down his spine. His breathing becomes more erratic, and he shouts desperately, his voice now hoarse.

Arys (shout) "No, wait! I'm a top hunter of Eagle Step! A well-known guild! You can't—"

Alexei cuts him off with another brutal punch, blood splattering across the floor.

Alexei (grinning): "Damn, Satisfied."

Arys glares at Alexei with fear and anger, his body shaking uncontrollably. Lysander chuckles softly, walking closer, towering over the bound man.

Lysander (chuckling): "Seriously? A hunter—begging us civilians to spare your life? Isn't your whole job to fight monsters for our protection?"

Angela moves even closer to Arys, her expression unreadable. The atmosphere shifts as the light around her warps subtly, though her appearance doesn't change. Somehow, Arys feels the weight of something sinister pressing down on him. Her presence alone is terrifying.

Angela (soft, chilling): "It's easy, really. All I need to do is drag your corpse into a dungeon... make it look like an accident on camera. Easy, isn't it?"

She steps back, her smile returning to its cold, calm demeanor.

Arys (shaking, voice weak): "Th-That... that can't—"

Alexei (grinning, cracking his knuckles): "Oh, it can. Now, time to see how many bones I can break before you pass out."
