In his fit of uncontrollable excitement, Max was about to test out his new skill. Unfortunately, he was interrupted; the heavens had other plans for him.

'' the government can't control me!!!''

A manic scream erupted from outside forcing Max to change his plan, he quickly made his way out of his room, arriving outside, he stared down at the ongoing commotion.

'' I was chosen by a god; the government cannot control me ''

The crazed man yelled again gaining more attention from the residents.

'' I will show you all why I was chosen'' At this point the man had completely lost it, raising his hand high in the air about to do something insane.

The residents recoiled, retreating to their rooms for protection. However, Max prepared to approach the crazed man in an attempt to apprehend him when, suddenly, an ethereal black halo appeared above the man's head.

Immediately he fell to the floor without even realizing what was going on. Max sighed, before looking for the person responsible.

''ting! Ting!''

'' Super strength, paralyzation, and flight, this man is a one-man army'' Max thought as he stared at Mr. Johnson with interest.

As he leveled up, he gained the ability to see the skills of others. He realized how advantageous it was to perceive their skills and no longer viewed the observer's eye as a useless ability. In fact, he began to consider it his most valuable skill.

Soon, the police arrived, and they handcuffed the crazy man in a unique red handcuff. Looking at the cuffs, Max quickly deactivated his observer's eye skill. He knew the creator of those cuffs and had no intention of meeting it.

Max promptly went back to his room, about to test out his new skill with glee when he heard a loud knock.

"Grandma Nora! You aren't supposed to be eating anything sweet!" James calmly yelled. He was already used to this.

His grandma sat in front of the television, watching a show that kept making her laugh while suckling some candy in her mouth. Although she was old with her greys showing, she never let her age get to her. Always bright and portrayed her youthful side whenever she got the chance.

''No way am going to give up on sweets, baby boy'' Nora said, her face still glued to the TV screen.

'' But grandma-''Before he could finish his sentence Nora interjected with her own.

''The doctors told me I will die long ago, but am still with you, baby boy'' she said whiles gleefully sucking on the candy in her mouth.

James used his invisibility skill to steal the remainder of the candy from her.

'' no way you are using your devil magic on me'' she jokingly sneered

'' Grandma these are not— ''Once again James was not allowed to finish his sentence

''Don't say another word baby boy, it's the devil talking''

James just laughed as he sat beside her to enjoy the show with her.

''No!!... they are good friends of mine'' Alice yelled in frustration.

She slammed her hand on her dining table and she got up with a slight frown.

"Alice," her dad called out from the head of the table.

Alice looked into her father's narrow brown eyes before slowly taking her seat. Mr. Robert had a well-groomed mustache, making his dull face exude a youthful glow. 

"Alex, Alec, stop making your sister upset," Mr. Robert said before taking a bite of the delicious chicken placed in front of him.

'' But dad, we can't have two suspicious boys around our sister almost every day'' Alec, Alice's elder brother said with a goofy smile that made his pink eye glow and his sleek light blue hair shimmer. He had baby fat on his smooth face and narrow eyes reminiscent of his dad.

'' so true, I wholeheartedly agree with Alec, boys are animals that want to pounce on anything that moves, especially one as cute as you'' Alex said matching his brother's goofiness. His wide purple eyes perfectly fit his extremely chisel-like face while his deep blue hair made his swirling beard look small.

'' Max and James… would never'' Alice said almost screaming her head off.

'' interesting…. are you romantically involved with any of these guys'' Alex asked almost looking serious as Mr. Robert's ears pricked up.

''No!!.... we are just really, really good friends'' Alex yelled again almost slamming the table leaving Alec and Alice in a giggling fit.

'' Kids I'd prefer you eat before you have your fun'' Mr. Robert said with an assertive tone.

In the Black House, the door to the rectangular office opened sending of gust of cold wind into the office, President White looked up with a soft smile, recognizing who had entered.

'' what do you want, Vanessa'' he asked with the same soft smile.

Vanessa, in her high leather boots, and a tacked-in bland top that made her bosom more visible with her orange eyes and purple hair stared at President White with a slight frown '' Mom misses you''

'' What do you really want'' Mr. White said in a heartbeat.

An instant grin appeared on her smooth and clear face '' Information on the low levels that- ''

'' Sorry dear, that information is confidential'' he smoothly interjected before she could finish her sentence.

Vanessa made a loud tsk before glaring at her dad.

'' With your skills, your poor old dad is not needed to find these so-called low levels you are in search of, aren't I right'' President White smiled at her as she intently stared.

''Whatever, I will find them on my own'' She gave up and left without complaint, White just smiled as she left.

'' Mr. Johnson'' Max said in surprise as he opened the door.

Mr. Johnson stood outside with his masculine body, a bald head, and bronze eyes. He was almost the same height as Max, making their constant eye contact awkward.

''is your mom home'' He asked with a strange smile, as if he was trying to hide something.

But Max didn't get the chance to react as Mavis burst out of her room and made a beeline for the door.

'' I have been waiting for you, handsome'' Mavis said seductively as she hugged Johnson tightly, her body firmly pressed against his.

Mr. Johnson noticing Max's shocked reaction let out an obvious fake cough.

'' Mom'' Max called her name with confusion. Mavis noting his son's confusion, grinned inwardly as he gave Johnson a deep kiss that lasted a hot minute.

Before she knew it Max was gone, she let out a laugh as Johnson watched her, amused by her behavior yet loving every moment with her.

''Shall we go now'' Johnson said in his deep voice only to be ambushed with another kiss

''of course'' Mavis said playfully as she went ahead of him.

Max found the relationship between his mom and Mr. Johnson ridiculous but as long as his mom was happy he would let her do what she liked, furthermore, it is not like he really has a choice in the matter.

Further in the day, Max met up with James and Alice, they went to a restaurant and ordered some pizza. Max sat alone while James and Alice sat together making it look like he was their elder brother.

'' I already miss the training room'' James said with a sigh.

'' For… whatever reason I feel the same'' Alice added without delay.

Max slowly ate his pizza without uttering a word, he felt the same but didn't want to mention it.

''hey guys, I have unlocked a new skill'' James eagerly said, unable to contain his excitement anymore '' teleportation… my new skill allows me to teleport. Although it's only for a short distance, I can seriously teleport now'' he quickly added with the same excitement.

Alice playfully clapped for him while Max rolled his eyes jokily.

'' You are not the only one with a new skill'' Alice pointed to herself before continuing'' I can stop anything from moving with just a single word, it is almost like they a frozen in time'' She ended with her smile brighter than before.

Alice and James shot a glance at Max after they were done, expecting his skill to be something strange again, they braced themselves, just in case.

'' Yes I do have a new skill, no it's not strange and no I don't know what it does yet'' Max sighed before looking at them, they were disappointed by the unexpected news.

After hours had passed and the moon began to rise, the three said their goodbyes to each other before heading their separate ways, excited about what the next day had in store for them.
