Two Blessings

''How are they so close to the fountain'' A certain man whispered to his friend.

'' I don't know; I feel like I am pushed against the ground the closer I get to it'' his friend pointed to the fountain where four youths were standing. Many more people joined as they were shocked since they couldn't even near it.

''Guys'' James called out to the three as he pointed to the crowd, glaring at them.

''Why… are they staring at us'' Alex moved away from their gaze, standing behind Emily.

Max finally realized why people were staring at them as if they were criminals. He glanced behind him and saw that they had become so engrossed in the divinity game that they had lost track of their surroundings. However, that still didn't explain why they had been fine by the fountain for so long.

'' You guys were not aware you were close to the fountain'' Emily giggled.

''no, we had no idea'' James and Alice rapidly shake their heads.

{what the fuck are you four still doing on my castle, fuck off} The lord of the castle's voice was heard in their minds.

Suddenly their bodies became almost illusory as they plummeted down like there was no ground, free-falling in an unknown space before arriving in their rooms like everything they experienced was an illusion perfectly made in their minds.

The next day, life went back to normal, at least the current normal the people of the world were used to. Max arrived at the bright facility, he quickly met up with Alice and James as usual. They were about to look for Emely although Max knew it was not necessarily due to her skill, he still went along with them.

'' yes, we fought with the high levels '' A short guy with skin as white as snow told a crowd of people that were forming around him.

''We fought the red monsters with all our might'' A tall girl dramatically added, she stood beside the short guy making them a contrast.

''We killed a lot of the red monsters, even helping some of the high levels in the process'' A tall black guy with a light voice continued with their recount.

The crowd was in an uproar, the rumors they heard were a stark contrast to the people in front of them. Many questioned them, believing them to be fraudulent and fakes, but before the curious hungry crowd could get their answers Nixon appeared, his presence alone sent the crowd running for their training room.

'' you guys won't stop them; you know you are famous'' Emily looked at the three with her eyes widened. She was in Max's training room behaving as though she was always familiar with the place.

Max, James, and Alice flashed her a soft smile with a look of contempt.

''Frankly speaking, fame is such a pain, I do not like the attention'' James scratched his head, making his orange hair shimmer. he seriously finds all eyes on him a nuisance.

'' We almost died…. Getting famous was a thought that never occurred, I couldn't care less about these impersonators'' Alice glanced at Emily while speaking.

''But I have to say, you guys really outperformed yourself'' Emily said with a glow in her light red eyes.

''We had to, or death was the only reward we would have gotten'' Max sighed readying himself for an intense training session. '' I have been thinking…why were you at the front line'' he added, gazing at Emily.

She narrowed her eyes before smiling at Max ''One of my skills was suddenly bombarded by cries for help, to save this person called Max''

'' Her mind-reading skill, but I wasn't crying for help in my name, that means- '' Max abruptly turned to face James.

''It was James, he almost overwhelmed my skill, I left the back to the front to save you, it felt like fate to do so'' After she was done, she conjured a chair and a table. Sitting on the chair she glanced at the bewildered James.

''Oh, and by the way, you are welcome'' She began to conjure many books, almost barricading herself in the process.

'' I didn't say anything'' James had an even more confused expression.

Many minutes had gone by, and Max trained with his stick, trying to improve his swings. James kept using his flashy teleport skill, to move to the back of the training room and instantly appear back to where he was previously. Along with his gun, James was pretty powerful Max thought, still focused on his swings.

Alice trained her body, she used the treadmill to her heart's content, finding her skills did not need her time at the moment.

''Asshole'' Emily almost pulled her hair out as she ripped a book in two, she quickly took another and began the whole process again.

'' you look pretty heated, why is that?'' James teleported before Emily, his golden yellow eyes flashing at her, making her smile in return.

''It's my skill'' she answered looking frustrated. The three in the room with her began to pay attention to her.

''my skill demands a lot from me; basically, I can create any power I want, but at the cost of intense research and brain-cracking work. And that is not even the most frustrating part; if my divinity does not like it I have to do the whole process again'' She let out a fast sigh.

'' how…do you exactly create powers'' Alice was now beside Emily; she was more curious about her skill than she thought.

'' For my divinity's sake, let's call them spells; the first step is research. Let's say I want to create a spell about rain, I do all the scientific research around rain. The next step is creating some form of incantation… my divinity loves this part. The third step is imagination; I just visualize over and over to reinforce and combine the spell and the incantation making them work as one and the last and most annoying step is submission'' She ended with a slight smile.

Apart from finding her skill laborious, Max, James, and Alice were beyond fascinated by it.

'' Can you demonstrate some of these spells….'' Max wanted to witness how her skill worked while hiding his delight to witness it.

'' Sure, why not, we are a team now'' She smirked before casting her gaze to her palm.

She opened and closed her palm in quick succession, and suddenly she stopped, slowly opening her hand to reveal, a wooden green-colored wand, the wand was a bit longer than her palm, had an unknown intricate design on it, and looked like two thin branches wrapping around each other.

She comfortably sat in her chair, raised her wand high up, and flicked the wand with seriousness. The wand began to glow, releasing small particles of light into the air. Emily's light red eyes lit up as she parted her lips '' Fulgur et tonitrua''

Many particles of light shot off the wand with blind speed, the light particles then quickly coagulated together, transforming into a dark cloud above the training room.

''boom! boom!''

Lightning shot out of the dark cloud, striking the floor of the training with a loud boom before a weak shockwave was sent through the room.

The three were pleasantly surprised and thanked the Gods that she joined their team.

'' Don't count on me too much, currently, I can only use six spells; and the more powerful they are the less amount of time I can use them'' She announced with a pinch of joy in her voice.

Due to Emily's display earlier, Max quickly wanted to try out his new sub-skill, he read the activation sequence one more time before acting accordingly.

With a simple toss, the stick of a pretender was sent flying through the air, with one last glance at it Max opened his mouth '' Verum Forma!!''

He thought he had to wait for the result, but the stick quickly paused in the air, frozen in time, showcasing to Max quick results. A bright burst of golden light slowly radiated out of it before quickly filling every square inch of the room.

James was in the middle of teleporting when he noticed it, his skill promptly deactivated as his head was transfixed on the radiant stick above as though it were the only thing in existence. The gym equipment and any conjured item instantly vanished.

Emily fell to the floor as her chair vanished, and Alice stumbled when the treadmill below her disappeared. However, they were not concerned about that; their only focus was the sticks frozen in mid-air.

Throughout the facility, everything with an eye turned to face the direction of the stick, and skills got deactivated as gym equipment and conjured items disappeared.

Certain sections of the wall in the training room where Max was located, began to ripple before stretching out like tentacles. They all headed for the stick as if it were precious to them. The tentacles nearly reached their target, wiggling as they did so. Max watched on with a confused expression.

''ting! ting!''

< Verum forma can only be used for ten seconds; while in use, the stick is God, all gazes must be transfixed on it and all unnatural existence shall return to their normal state>

The next moment radiant stick fell to the floor losing its luster, all people who were transfixed were back to normal, and all things that disappeared reappeared. The walls of Max's training room went back to normal.
