The Envoy Part V

As Elgar, Elise, and their team were preparing to set out at first light, ten warriors chosen by the vice-chairman arrived at the inn. Elgar inspected each man individually and nodded his approval. Though Rumi appeared nervous, Elgar's calm demeanor had somewhat put him at ease.

"Vice-chairman, tell the chairman: I will see him when I return, and I won't take kindly to this attitude," Elgar said angrily. Everyone left the inn. The caravan was fully prepared to depart.

"I'll relay the message, sir. Will this many soldiers be enough?" asked the vice-chairman.

"It will suffice. We had to leave in a hurry and couldn't bury our dead. If possible, please bury those soldiers and notify their families," Elgar commanded.

"Of course, sir," said the vice-chairman.

Then they left the inn. The caravan was waiting, ready to go. They quickly left the city and set out on their journey.
