96. Information exchange

We went back into the little teacher's office, where my cat waited for us. I was suddenly too paranoid to discuss the new revelation in the car where a driver was and told Jude to follow me inside.

As I reached behind him to lock the door, he raised his eyebrows at me, an unsettling light in his eyes.

"It is better to discuss this here." I said quietly, taking a step back, distancing myself as much as possible. In the process, I stumbled over the sports bag on the floor and needed Jude to reach out to me yet again to prevent me from falling.

Clearing my throat, I shook his hand off, his arms crossing as he leaned against the door. Was it really a clever move to talk here with him in the room where we hugged intimately not long ago?

"So the guy just now…" Gathering my thoughts, I took my cat into my arms, stroking it.
