"Alright." Ivy grasped Kate's outstretched hand, and the weight of her fear seemed to lighten slightly. Though her legs still trembled, she finally stepped onto the first stair.
The glass skywalk they were to traverse resembled a crystalline observation deck—a straight path leading to a vast circular glass platform, surrounded by verdant mountains shrouded in mist and clouds.
The challenge required them to reach the circular platform, circle it once, and then return. Though the observation deck appeared not far in a straight line from their starting point, once stepping onto the entirely glass-paved path, every meter felt as long as a kilometer.
Holding Kate's hand tightly with one hand and gripping the railing with the other, Ivy clung desperately. Despite the safety harness securing her, she was terrified beyond measure.
Kate frowned slightly. "If you're truly afraid, there's no shame in turning back."
