Chapter 90: Daily Dose of Affection

"What's the matter?" Kate's tone and expression were utterly indulgent. Even without seeing it yet, she could guess that Ivy's urgency wasn't about anything significant; she looked more like she'd stumbled upon some juicy gossip and wanted someone to share it with.

"Let's hurry and have breakfast," Ivy replied, deliberately keeping her in suspense.

When they sat down at the dining table, Kate didn't need Ivy to explain; she immediately noticed what was going on.

Three breakfasts were laid out—not the most pressing issue—but each had a sticky note with a name on it, as if to prevent someone from eating another's meal.

Needless to say, Sophia's was missing.

In a house of four, this was an exceedingly obvious snub.

Sophia merely circled the table once without saying a word and returned to the living room to sit alone. If it were any other day, she would have already jumped up to question Annie about the missing portion.
