Ivy wanted to flee, but Kate's gaze was truly intimidating. She hesitantly stepped forward, then withdrew, finally standing obediently still as she waited for Kate to approach.
"Why are you avoiding me?" Kate spoke first.
Ivy didn't dare look into Kate's eyes, but her gaze fell upon Kate's lips, instantly recalling last night's kiss that had nearly left her breathless.
"I'm not," she replied unconvincingly, her face flushing after she spoke. Was it that obvious she was avoiding her?
"Back to the room," Kate ordered.
Without further ado, she grasped Ivy's wrist and led her back to their shared bedroom.
Ivy's palms were sweating profusely; for no particular reason, she just wanted to escape. The events of last night felt like a dream, and she feared the dream might suddenly end. She also dreaded Kate bringing up the embarrassing things she had said yesterday; they hadn't felt so mortifying at the time, but each recollection made her cringe.
