Ivy hadn't expected Kate to apologize over this matter. She quickly shook her head like a rattle. "I didn't think much about it at all. You were absolutely mesmerizing just now; there's no need to apologize!"
Kate's lips curved into a smile. "Mesmerizing? Mesmerizing whom?"
Ivy nearly bit her tongue. Indeed, this mischievous mentor seized every chance to tease her. "You're so bad," she said to Kate, her voice thick with playful reproach, enough to stir anyone's heart.
"Yesterday you said I was the mentor you respected most, but I don't see it," Kate remarked.
"Your eloquence is so sharp now. When we first met, you only spoke one word at a time," Ivy wrinkled her nose at Kate. "Did you not want to talk to me back then?"
Kate displayed a thoughtful expression.
Ivy grew anxious. "Do you even need to think about it? Don't tell me you really found me annoying and didn't want to talk?"
