The Pack’s Challenge

The Pack's Challenge

The council hall loomed before Bella like a courtroom where her fate had already been sealed. Torches flickered along the stone walls, casting eerie shadows over the semicircle of elders seated before her. The air was thick with authority and judgment, but Bella refused to let it suffocate her.

She stood in the center, her back straight, eyes sharp. Every instinct screamed at her to be careful, to bow her head and accept the council's ruling like a proper pack member. But she had never been one to follow expectations blindly.

"Your request is denied, Bella," Elder Gregor's voice cut through the murmuring crowd. His deep-set eyes, filled with disapproval, locked onto hers. "The Alpha Trials are not for you. Leadership is a man's duty, and the council has already decided."
