My Car Keys!

"Are you ok, Dear?"

Amara placed down the spoon, and checked her Son's temperature by placing her hand on his forehead.

"I'm fine, Mum. I want to join the Tamer Academy,"

Christopher added, meeting their gazes. "Is there a problem with that?"

Christopher asked, moving his gaze on everyone present.

"Don't mind Mum's and Dad's expressions, I'm happy you'll be joining us in the academy! I'll tell the academy's principal to sign you up--"

"--That's not needed, Adonis. I don't need to use any back door, I'll take the test as everyone else."

"Oh, my son has grown up!"

Amara's eyes glistened with tears. She reached out, her hands trembling slightly, and cupped Christopher's face. "My boy," She whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "My boy is going to be a Tamer!"

"Hmm... Mmm..."

"Let go of him, Amara! Don't you see you're suffocating him?!"

"Oh?"

Amara slowly removed Christopher from her hold, and looked at his face with a motherly smile. "My boy is going to be a Tamer! He'll be Protecting our cities from now onwards! I'm so proud of you, Christopher."

The four on the table stared at her, utterly dumbfounded... Seeing all eyes on her, she let out a nervous chuckled, and changed the topic.

"Em.... Old man, what announcement were you about to make, before our son bring this good news?"

With her questions, all eyes were now focused on the family head.

"Well... Em..."

He thought for a moment, and shook his head. "It's not important, what's important is my son is ready to be a Tamer... Ok Christopher, when are you starting the academy? Do you need any Beasts? Just tell me what you need."

'Hmm... The blood Mushroom, and Sunlight flower are both common ingredients, but the tears of a Mythical Beast... That'll draw countless questions...'

After some thought, he opened his mouth: "Now that you said it Dad... I'll start the test next week... And there are some things I'll need."

"Go on."

Christopher took a deep breath, and revealed.

"I'll need five Sunlight flowers, and Five Blood Mushrooms."

The two parents turned their heads to Adonis and Katherine in mild surprised.

Adonis raised an eyebrow:

"Sunlight Flowers and Blood Mushrooms? Those aren't exactly standard Tamer supplies, are they?" Katherine exchanged a puzzled look with her brother.

"Hmm... Big brother, why do you need these things? You can't feed them to any beast." Adonis said.

"Yes, Big Brother. You're not knowledgeable about these things, so you don't know what's good and bad for beasts... It's just, these things aren't good for any Beasts." Katherine added.

'Oh wow?! A Supreme Tamer who once had and trained three divine beasts won't be knowledgeable about Beasts... Should I laugh or cry?'

He nodded at them, and turned to their father. "They're right Dad, but I need it for something else... Please."

"Ok, you can get them in the store."

This is where the trouble lies.

"Well... Dad, these two cost $10,000."

Everyone turned their heads towards him in surprise... Their father thought for a moment. He brought out his smartphone, tapped the screen for some seconds; then nodded, and placed his phone on the table.

"Ten thousand? Those ingredients must be potent indeed. Be careful with them, son."

Seeing his confused look, his father clarified:

"I have transferred the money to your account, you can go and get the things needed... I don't care if you become the best Tamer, I'm just happy my son is now responsible."

Christopher nodded with a smile, while Amara continued putting food on his plate.

"Now eat."

He nodded at her, picked up his spoon, and started eating... Noticing he was the only one eating, he looked up.

"What happened?"

"Nothing."

They said, and started eating their breakfast, with small smiles on their faces.

"You two need to eat fast, and get going to the Academy, your class will start anytime soon."

Adonis and Katherine nodded at their mother, eager to get to the Academy. Today was advanced combat training – essential for all aspiring Tamers, who were tasked with protecting the city from rogue Beasts.

'While you two are in the Academy, I'll be shopping... I also have a week to get the tears, and mix the drink... I can do it, As my saying goes... "You can't be the best if you're scared of taking risks".'

[Some Minutes later.]

BAM!

BANG!

CLANK!

Leyla walked into Christopher's room and stopped, aghast. Clothes were strewn across the floor, books overflowed from the shelves, chairs misplaced. She looked at Christopher who was busy looking for something.

"What are you looking for, Christopher?" She asked in mild surprised.

"My car keys? Do you know where it is?"

He got down on his knees, bend his body, and looked under his bed.

"Car Keys? I think Miss Katherine has your car keys... She used your car two days ago, maybe she forgot to return the keys."

"I don't know what I'd do without you." Christopher said, grinning at Leyla.

He picked up his phone on the bed, and quickly ran out of his messed up room, heading to Katherine's.

Leyla looked at the room, and sighed helplessly. "He never changed."

_

Christopher stood in front of the wooden door, with the golden word "Katherine" engraved on it.

'Katherine won't mind, will she?' Christopher thought. He hesitated for a moment, then pushed the door open.

Christopher slowly walked inside the room, moving his gaze around the huge space. It wasn't as big as his, but still... He calmly walked past the resting place, and opened another door... What came to view was a Queen-Size bed, which was placed in the center of the room, a dressing table, and mirror stood on the right side of the bed.

Without checking any other details, Christopher rummaged through drawers, tossing aside clothes and trinkets.

"Where are the keys?" He muttered, his frustration growing. He checked under the bed, then behind the curtains. And after five minutes, he finally found the key sitting on her bed... Literally.

"You got to be kidding me?!"

He took the key, cussed a couple of times, and walked towards the door.

Rustle!

Christopher came to a stop hearing a rustling sound, he slowly turned his gaze around, seeing a 10 centimeters jet black spider, its eight eyes gleaming like tiny embers, and Its legs were covered in bristly hairs.

"What the...? A Darkness bloodline spider," Christopher murmured, his eyes widening.

"They're known for their rapid growth, high attack and potent venom." He added.

The spider on the bed twitched, then seemed to ripple, its form expanding with sickening speed. Its eight legs lengthened, its body swelling, until it towered over Christopher, a grotesque monster of chitin and venom.

"Easy there, Don't you know I'm your master's elder Brother?"

The Spider lowered its gaze to the keys in his hand... Noticing its gaze, Christopher raised the keys Into the air, and started taking some steps back.

"This is what you want right?"

The Spider's gaze was still fixed on the keys.

'Katherine must have asked it to look after the Car Keys, as least she knew what it's worth.'

The moment his back touched the first door, he turned to his right, seeing a flower vase.

SCREECH!!

"Sorry, but I need this!!"

Desperate, Christopher lashed out, his foot connecting with a nearby vase. It shattered against the spider's side, momentarily distracting it. He didn't wait to see the effect. Christopher scrambled back, adrenaline surging through him, and burst out of the room.

BAM!!

The flower vase accurately collided on it, and without hesitation, Christopher shot out from the room, not even looking back at the spider, or minding the pain he felt from kicking the vase.
