Way To Go, Mum!

[Some Hours Later.]

[Exurb.]

[Advika's Home.]

Advika knocked slowly on the door, and after waiting a few seconds, Sylvia opened it.

"Advika? How was it?!"

Advika walked past her excited sister and slumped down onto the couch.

"Uh?" Sylvia was confused, seeing her sister's reaction.

"What happened? Didn't you sell anything?"

Advika looked at her sister and opened her palm, revealing two rings.

"Are those..." Sylvia was stunned.

Advika smiled. "Yeah, Life Force Rings... We can now easily travel with our Beasts."

"But Advika, where did you get the money from? Low-class rings are worth $2,000 each."

"I sold the meat for $4,000... I don't know; a man walked up to me and paid for everything."

"Really?! Wait, that means you used the money to buy these rings. What about the foodstuffs?"

Advika took out her phone, scrolled to Messages, then gave it to her sister.

Sylvia took the phone. The moment she saw the balance, she almost screamed, but Advika quickly covered her mouth.

"Shh..."

"Advika! Where did you get such an amount from?!" Sylvia whispered, staring at the balance to make sure she wasn't seeing things.

"You remember the guy who helped us?"

"Yes, how can I forget such a nice and handsome guy?" Sylvia asked with a slight frown.

"He's actually the eldest son of the Valhalla family... I asked around and heard the Valhalla family is one of the three strongest families in the capital. I was so shocked when I found out... He asked a shameless guy to pay up for the trouble he caused; that's how I got the $10,000 you see there."

"Mm... I thought you would refuse," Sylvia said, giving Advika back the phone.

"Why would I do that when I know we needed it...? And besides, the guy deserved it... I know with their powers, $10,000 means nothing to him."

Advika stood up. "Go and get ready, Sylvia... We need to stock up the house before I leave."

"Right!!" Sylvia quickly ran towards the room they shared to change into something nicer and cleaner... While Advika walked towards their parents' room.

______________

[Capital.]

[Valhalla Family's Villa.]

The cars came to a stop in the large compound, and Christopher and his two siblings got out.

"You encountered a Mythical-stage Spider on your hunt and escaped! You're amazing, brother!"

"Yeah!! And with three Perfect-stage Beasts at that! Wow! If I were in your shoes, I would have frozen, scared shitless," Adonis said with a smile.

"Thank goodness you can't fit in my shoes," Christopher said jokingly, while the two burst out laughing.

"SON!!!!"

Amara ran towards them and gave Christopher a big hug, squeezing his head against her chest.

"Don't ever do that again!! Why would you leave the house without telling me beforehand?! You always made sure to let me know! So what happened? Did I do something wrong?!" Amara asked, her eyes starting to water.

'Okay, she has to be to blame for her son being useless... Doting on him this much will surely spoil any child,' Christopher thought. Before he could say anything, Amara pulled him away from the hug and quickly checked his body for any signs of injuries.

"I'm okay, Mum," Christopher said with a smile, rolling his eyes at the two who were laughing at him.

"What were you doing in the exurb, Christopher?!!!"

A voice boomed all over the place. The bodyguards around the compound quickly lowered their heads in acknowledgment... While the group turned to their father and husband, who came down the front stairs, walking towards them.

"Dad! Look!!" Katherine quickly climbed the stairs towards their father and showed him the cores in Christopher's jacket.

"Uh? Did you and Adonis encounter some trouble on the way?" He asked in mild confusion.

"What? No, these were all gotten by Elder Brother!" Katherine said with a smile.

"What?! Christopher? How the hell can he get all these cores by himself? Or did he pay some Tamers to help him with the cores?"

Christopher sighed.

'This man is something else... He froze my account so I wouldn't be able to use my money... All because of this body... That was the reason I had to ask for money. Instead of unfreezing my main account, he transferred the money to another account... And I lost the remaining money, my phone, and car!!' He opened his mouth:

"What are you saying, Dad?! Those are from my hunt! And if I hadn't come in contact with a Mythical-stage Spider, I would have gotten more than that... Look at me, I lost my phone; that was the reason I couldn't call Mum. I lost the remaining cash I had, and even my car was destroyed by the spider! And worse, I haven't eaten anything!"

Ethan stared at his son with a slight frown and asked, "You can't kill ten, let alone this number of cores in here... Come on, tell me; what did you do?"

"I had some help," Christopher turned his head to the car.

Ethan followed his son's gaze and was stunned to see three Beasts staring at them from the car window.

"Are those...?"

"Yeah, those are my beasts... Because of my frozen account, I couldn't buy any Beasts higher than Perfect-stage," Christopher feigned a sad expression.

"Mum, ask Dad to unfreeze my account, please."

"Don't worry, dear. He will." Amara glared at her husband and turned to Christopher. "Come inside, son! You need to eat!"

She held Christopher's wrist and pulled him towards the house, stopping beside her husband.

"Our son is back from hunting, and instead of being happy, you're here suspecting him... You better unfreeze my son's account... If you hadn't frozen it, perhaps he wouldn't have trained with Perfect-stage Beasts... But even with these Beasts, he could still kill twenty-one Perfect-stage Beasts... Get it in your head that my son is brave and powerful!!"

With that said, she walked inside with Christopher.

'Way to go, Mum!' he thought.

"Hey woman, he's also my son!!" Ethan yelled at his wife, who had already entered the house. He then turned to the two.

"What are you two still doing here?! Don't you have school?!!"

"We took three days off, Dad. And I think you should unfreeze Brother's account... He needs to get another car," Katherine smiled and walked inside, followed by Adonis.

Left alone, Ethan thought for a few minutes and took out his phone, making a call.

"I need something from you."
