Early morning.
Lu Fei carried a basket of fruit and walked into the hospital.
In the private ward, Huang Junkun was covered in plaster, wrapped up like a mummy.
At that moment, his parents had gone to get some food, and no one was there to keep watch.
Lu Fei simply pushed the door open and walked in.
"Oh, Classmate Huang, how did you end up in the hospital after just one night?"
He placed the fruit basket on the bedside table, pulled over a chair, and sat down by the bed.
Huang Junkun, in a daze, slowly opened his eyes.
Seeing Lu Fei, he instantly stiffened all over.
"You, what are you here for?" he asked in a dry and hoarse voice with difficulty.
"I heard you were hospitalized, so I came to see you," Lu Fei said without hiding his gloating smile, "How did you end up like this? Did you fall while trying to eat shit upside down?"
"Get out! I don't need you to come and see me..." Huang Junkun shouted angrily but weakly. However, his agitation worsened the pain from his injuries, causing him to grimace in pain.
"Is that so? I was actually going to give you a gift."
Lu Fei took out a clay figure with a twisted shape.
On the back of the clay figure, there was a small yellow paper doll attached.
As soon as he saw the paper doll, Huang Junkun's eyes changed drastically.
"You, you..."
"What, you recognize this little doll?" Lu Fei looked at him with a half-smile.
"No, I don't know her." Huang Junkun denied in a panic.
"Is that so?" Lu Fei smiled and gently twisted the broken arm of the clay figure.
"Ah!" Huang Junkun suddenly screamed in pain.
The arm that had just been fixed was broken again. His face was ashen, and his whole body was shaking.
"You really don't know her?" Lu Fei went on to twist the other arm of the clay figure.
"It, it was an old woman who gave it to me..." Huang Junkun shouted in terror. He didn't know what method Lu Fei was using, but he really didn't want to experience that extreme pain again.
"Old woman?" Lu Fei's hand still hovered over the clay figure, lost in thought.
"Last night, that old woman made me stick it on your back. She, she forced me..." Huang Junkun gasped for breath, cold sweat sliding down his pale face, his eyes full of fear.
"You'd better be telling the truth, or I can't guarantee that my hand won't slip. If the clay figure falls to the ground, it will be completely shattered."
"The truth! Everything I said is the truth!"
Huang Junkun endured the pain and desperately made a promise.
Lu Fei picked up the clay figure and turned to leave.
He did not return to Sinisterium Pawnshop, but instead called Hu Zi and they both went to the Sanwei Teahouse together.
"Young Master Lu, you're here for tea so soon? There's still no news from your grandfather. What would you like to drink today? I'll give you a discount," said Red Sister, who was adorned with jewels, as she warmly took hold of Lu Fei's arm.
"Red Sister, I'm not here for tea today. I need to ask you about someone," Lu Fei said directly.
"Oh? Looking for someone again?" Red Sister, with her watery and alluring eyes, looked at Lu Fei curiously, "Who is it this time?"
"Diviner Feng."
"What do you want with that old diviner?" Red Sister was slightly surprised.
"She has caused me trouble several times. If I don't settle things with her once and for all, how can Sinisterium Pawnshop do business in the jianghu in the future?"
"That old woman is very treacherous. Although she doesn't have much real power, she has plenty of low and despicable tricks." A hint of worry appeared on Red Sister's fair face, "You've just entered the jianghu and don't yet know how dangerous it is. I'm afraid you might suffer a loss."
"Thanks for your concern, Red Sister, but if I back down at the slightest difficulty, how can Sinisterium Pawnshop continue to thrive in the jianghu?" Lu Fei's face smiled, but there was a chill in his eyes.
"Good kid, you've got guts!" Red Sister's eyes showed appreciation as she picked up a pen and wrote a note, "This is the address of Diviner Feng. Many people in the jianghu know it, so it doesn't count as me leaking secrets. But if you can't handle her, make sure no one knows that you got the information from me."
"Rest assured, Red Sister, I understand."
Lu Fei paid and, along with Hu Zi, headed straight for Diviner Feng's place.
It was an old and dilapidated courtyard in the old town district.
Surprisingly, there were a couple of people already queuing at the entrance.
"Why hasn't the diviner opened her doors yet? I finally managed to get a date with my goddess, and without the magic meat, how am I going to hit a home run?"
"Don't be so impatient. I came even earlier than you. Today, I'm going to make sure that wretched woman who refuses to divorce me gets what's coming to her!"
As the courtyard remained closed, the people in line grew increasingly anxious.
"My old self has some matters to attend to today and will not be seeing any guests. Please, everyone, go back."
Soon, the old voice of Aunt Feng the Seeress echoed through the courtyard.
"Aunt Seeress, we really have an urgent matter. Please open the door for us."
"No time means no time! Don't blame me if I turn my back on those who dare to linger!"
Aunt Feng's voice was cold and sharp, and the people in line didn't dare to get angry; they could only leave in disappointment.
Lu Fei and Hu Zi exchanged a glance, surprised that this old seeress had quite a few visitors.
However, just like her, none of them seemed to be of good character.
"Open the door!"
Hu Zi stepped forward and kicked the old door down with one foot.
"I already said the old woman isn't seeing anyone today. How dare you barge in? Are you tired of living?!"
Hearing the loud noise in the courtyard, Aunt Feng put down the straw figure in her hand, and with a stern face, she stepped out of the dimly lit house. Upon seeing the scene, she was stunned.
"You, how did you..."
"What's wrong with me?"
Lu Fei walked into the courtyard with a smile, moving freely without any signs of fractures or injuries.
"What are you here for?" Feng Shenpo's cloudy eyes trembled, her old face full of disbelief.
The curse on the effigy clearly succeeded, so why is this boy unharmed?
She was about to take the scarecrow to Sinisterium Pawnshop, but unexpectedly, this boy came looking for her first.
"I'm here to teach you the rules of Sinisterium Pawnshop!" Lu Fei pulled over a stool and sat down, crossing his legs. He took out the mysterious and eerie Yellow Spring Umbrella, "After the due date, this black umbrella will belong to my Sinisterium Pawnshop! Understand?"
"Since you came to me, don't blame me for being impolite!"
Feng Shenpo's eyes turned cold.
Grabbing a few scarecrows, she was about to throw them out, but suddenly felt a sharp pain in her chest, as if her heart had been punched hard.
Her stooped body staggered, and she only managed to keep from falling by grabbing the door frame.
She looked up, panting heavily.
Lu Fei was sitting on the bench, holding a clay figure in his hand, with a playful smile on his face.
Feng Shennu immediately realized that her spell had been broken by Lu Fei. She had been hitting nothing but a clay figure. And when Lu Fei used his spiritual power against the clay figure, the backlash would mercilessly affect her.
But she couldn't believe it.
"You, you actually have spiritual power?"
She had spent her entire life using every means possible, exerting all her efforts, and had only managed to cultivate a small amount of spiritual power. But this young man, barely in his twenties, could produce such pure and strong spiritual power at will.
Why?
Boom!
Immediately after, Lu Fei channeled his spiritual power into his hand and gave a hard squeeze, completely shattering the clay figure.
Madame Feng's chest felt as though it had been struck by a series of heavy blows; she spat out a mouthful of black blood and collapsed to the ground, despondent.
Her spell had been broken, and the backlash shattered her last remaining bit of magical power.
"Aunt Feng, do you understand the rules of Sinisterium Pawnshop now?"
Lu Fei walked up and waved the black umbrella in front of Madame Feng.
"Whose is this black umbrella?"
Madame Feng's wrinkled lips trembled. She knew she had lost completely and, after a long while, managed to croak out a few words: "Sinisterium Pawnshop..."
"That's right."
Lu Fei smiled slightly and carried the black umbrella out of the courtyard.
All the way back, he was in high spirits. With this lesson, he was confident that the treacherous old fortune-teller would never dare to cause him any more trouble.
Returning to the pawnshop, he carefully put away the black umbrella and only then noticed that there were many missed calls on his phone.
They were all from Pan Lin Kai.
"What could be so urgent?" Lu Fei had an ominous feeling for some reason and quickly dialed back.
"Lin Kai?"
"Lu Fei, it's bad, Hai Tao really came to find me!" Pan Lin Kai's voice was filled with fear.
"What, he came to find you?"
"He sent me a message on WeChat, he, he asked me to come to the haunted building to play a game with him..."
