Chapter 466: Eight Bronze Coffins

A faint, warm yellow light illuminated, and a slight scent of oil spread out.

Lu Fei's mind gradually cleared, and he was overjoyed.

  "It works!"

The Merit Lantern could dispel the ominous aura in the tomb, making their actions much easier.

"Manager Lu, what kind of lamp is this? Every time I smell the scent of the oil, I always feel much calmer in both body and mind!" Luo Xingfa curiously examined the oil lamp, finding it quite magical.

"Mr. Luo, you need to keep up now!"

Lu Fei just smiled slightly without offering an explanation.

Holding the lamp, he led Luo Xingfa as they set off again.

Sure enough, with the light from the oil lamp, the situation in the tomb chamber changed. After passing through several passages, they arrived at a larger tomb chamber.

This place was dark and spacious, its size unknown. As they walked, their footsteps echoed.

Luo Xingfa followed Lu Fei cautiously, step by step.

He shone his flashlight carefully into the distance.

  Ahead, several faint figures appeared!

  "People? Is that Luo Youliang?"

Lu Fei immediately became alert, waiting for a while. When he found that the figures did not move, he shone his flashlight over, only to be taken aback.

Those people were wearing old ancient clothing, their skin had a wax-yellow color of something desiccated, their faces expressionless, with only two black holes for eyes.

They stood stiffly in a circle, lifeless.

"Could they all be corpse pupae?"

Lu Fei took out the thunderstruck wood.

These corpse pupae were different from those hanging upside down outside on the trees.

The ones outside had pale skin, indicating they had not been dead for long, whereas these corpse pupae looked like dried salted meat, covered in dust, no one knew how many years they had been standing here.

  Most importantly,

there were no red dots in the eyes of these corpse pupae.

"Maybe these are the real corpse pupae, and the ones outside are imitations made by Luo Youliang, controlled by some kind of dark magic."

Lu Fei gestured to Luo Xingfa, and the two of them tiptoed forward.

When they got closer, they discovered that behind those corpse pupae, there were several more dark and eerie large coffins!

There were a total of eight coffins, arranged in a circle.

The corpse pupae stood outside the coffins, holding weapons, as if guarding something.

Above them, thick chains, as thick as an arm, were wrapped around, and it was unknown what their purpose was.

As the flashlight swept across, the eight coffins reflected an eerie, faint light.

It was particularly sinister and eerie!

Lu Fei noticed that the coffins seemed to be made of metal, so he took a few more looks.

They turned out to be bronze coffins!

He immediately thought of the bronze mirror in his pocket.

There must be a connection here!

But now is not the time to study these things; let's find Luo Youliang first.

That old man should have figured out everything about this ancient tomb and is hiding in some corner.

Lu Fei did not dare to get too close to those corpse pupae and the bronze coffin, for fear of triggering any mechanisms, and led Xiao Hei and Luo Xingfa to detour far away.

"Boss Lu, why do I feel like those corpse pupae are watching us?" Luo Xingfa was trembling with fear, tightly holding the Pi Xiu seal given by Master Xiang.

Not only he had this feeling, but Lu Fei felt it too.

No matter which direction they moved, those empty eyes of the corpse pupae seemed to be coldly watching them, giving an eerie sensation.

"Just don't look at them! As long as we don't touch anything, the mechanisms in the tomb shouldn't cause any trouble."

Lu Fei also felt a chill in his heart.

He surveyed the area, hoping to quickly find traces of Luo Youliang.

The large burial chamber was circular in shape, with the bronze coffin and the corpse cocoon right at the center, surrounded by eight passages.

Each passage corresponded to a bronze coffin.

They had just come in through one of those passages.

"Which of the other seven passages is the one where Luo Youliang is hiding?" Lu Fei furrowed his brows. To search each one thoroughly would take too much time.

Moreover, they had no idea what kind of mechanisms might be set up inside.

Luo Xingfa was even more at a loss.

Fortunately, there was the Meritorious Lamp to provide light, keeping Lu Fei's mind clear, and Luo Xingfa managed to stay relatively calm.

"Don't panic! Since that old man is hiding here, he must have left some traces behind!"

Lu Fei thought for a moment, then lowered his flashlight to look for footprints.

But instead of finding footprints, he discovered many strange black residues. They seemed to be some sort of animal droppings, similar to rat droppings but smaller in size.

"What small animal could there be in an ancient tomb? It must be from outside!" Lu Fei's eyes lit up.

He had seen this kind of feces by the window at Luo Youliang's house.

"The same thing, appearing in two places, it can't be a coincidence! Follow these droppings!"

The two people and the dog followed the droppings forward, arriving at a dark and somber passage entrance.

Before entering, Lu Fei specifically checked the adjacent passages; there were no droppings there.

  "This is most likely it!"

Lu Fei was even more certain in his heart. He nodded to Luo Xingli and quickly walked in.

The passage was dark and long.

The ominous aura became even more intense.

Lu Fei held up an oil lamp, and the dim yellow light guided them as they moved cautiously forward.

The animal droppings on the ground were increasing.

Their hearts were in their throats.

"Manager Lu, u-up there, it seems like there are eyes!" Luo Youliang looked around anxiously, and when he lifted his head, his body suddenly stiffened.

  "Up there?"

Lu Fei lifted his head to look, and his scalp immediately tingled with horror.

Above them was a dense cluster of eerie red dots, shimmering with a cold light in the darkness.

These red dots were exactly the same as the ones in the human skin eyes!

  So they were eyes!

Lu Fei picked up the lightning-struck wood.

At the same time, a sharp whirlwind suddenly rushed down, and those red, eye-like dots were within the whirlwind. Faintly, Lu Fei also heard something akin to the sound of bird wings flapping.

  "It was birds?!"

Lu Fei immediately threw a lightning bolt at the whirlwind and then pulled Luo Xingliang, running forward quickly.

Little Black didn't need any reminder and stayed close to his feet all the time.

  BOOM!

Thunder rumbled in the dark passage, accompanied by shrill cries, as black birds fell one after another.

It turned out that what had swept away Luo Youliang was not a demonic wind, but a flock of birds.

These strange birds, flying together, were like a black whirlwind.

No wonder they kept seeing birds on the road. The bird that hit Luo Youliang's window must not have been a coincidence!

In an instant, Lu Fei had figured out a lot.

Half of the flock of birds were electrocuted, and a foul odor of burnt feathers spread, while the remaining strange birds seemed to go berserk, flapping their wings wildly and charging towards them.

  Splash!

  "Mr. Luo, hold the lamp!"

Lu Fei thrust the merit lantern into Luo Xingliang's hands and shielded him behind his back.

  The black umbrella unfurled.

The birds flew towards them with reckless abandon, pelting the surface of the umbrella like raindrops.

The red flower inside the umbrella lit up.

Strands of black hair rapidly emerged, slicing through the flock of birds like sharp steel wires.

A slaughter ensued, with blood splattering everywhere.

Drops of blood and the remains of the bizarre birds dripped steadily from the edge of the umbrella.

  In no time.

A thick layer of corpses had piled up by Lu Fei's feet.

In the dim light of the oil lamp, he finally saw the true appearance of those strange birds!
