CHAPTER 25: NAMARIE.

Astrid's POV:

As the mysterious woman walked in slowly, I instinctively took a few steps backward until I was standing in front of the baby's crib. The woman stood there, observing, searching, until her eyes fell on the little baby still asleep in his crib.

I instinctively shifted, covering her view and making her smile, a cold, calculating, evil, humorless smile, sending cold shivers down my spine instantly.

Kael positioned himself like a barrier, between us and the woman. "Who are you and what do you want?" he growled, his voice low and menacing.

The woman's smile grew wider and more menacing. "Who I am is not important right now." She said, her voice dripping with intense malice. "What is important right now, is that I'm here for the child. Stay out of my way and you will not get hurt."
