Cormac's POV:
The tall trees all seemed to be closing in on and around us as we walked, their branches intertwining with each other above our heads like eerie skeletal fingers.
The air, as usual, was thick and heavy with the scent of damp earth and immensely decayed leaves. I could feel the heavy weight of the forest's deepest secrets pressing down on our necks. Well, not literally of course.
It has been almost a week and a half since we started on this mission, and every day in the Asmunda forest has brought with it a new mystery and challenge. But regardless of the daunting challenges, I knew we were getting closer by the day to finding the little prince. I could feel it in my gut, and my gut feelings are never wrong.
