CHAPTER 48: MY LOYALTY LIES WITH YOU.

Thorne's POV:

Making my way through the deserted and inadequately illuminated corridors of the ancient temple that had become our usual meeting ground, the only sound being the gentle echo of my footsteps off the stone walls, I couldn't help feeling a little wary.

I'd been summoned here by him, in the wee hours of the morning, and I knew way better than to be late, knowing very well that he hated tardiness.

I had too much on the line, I couldn't risk arousing his wrath, especially because of all the failures we've had in executing the plans, failures that happened under my watch.

I needed the new plans and recent conspiracies to work; my life depended on it. I have my fingers crossed that those two imbeciles won't ruin it this time; I know deep down they're waiting for justice, one opportunity to betray me, but unknowingly, to both of them, I'm always one step ahead.
