PS-Chapter 173 Without a Doubt

Lu Chen did not know Lu Zhengzhi and thought he was a senior leader at Capital City TV.

Therefore, when Lu Zhengzhi rejected his new song, Lu Chen could not remain completely indifferent.

He felt either surprised, ashamed, or angry.

But since he was on this stage, if he wanted to become a true superstar, he had to learn to face any doubts, criticisms, or even slander with composure— after all, how could one see a rainbow without experiencing the storm?

So he did not argue excitedly; that would not help the situation and would only leave a bad impression.

However, Lu Chen would never silently endure the unfairness imposed by others; he firmly proposed to sing another song.

Wasn't it said that it wasn't mainstream enough? Then let's perform a true mainstream song!

His memory bank was filled with countless gems, and picking just one would be enough to turn the situation around.

And Lu Chen was fortunate.

First, he had outstanding works, and second, Lu Zhengzhi was not the leader of Capital City TV.

Director Lu was from CCTV.

In terms of rank, Lu Zhengzhi was undoubtedly the highest among everyone present, but he could not make decisions for Jing TV.

The support from Gao Zhixue and Gu Rui gave Lu Chen a valuable opportunity.

He did not hesitate to showcase his strongest abilities.

This truly mainstream-style song "I Love You, China" was absolutely a classic in the dream world. Its original rendition was in bel canto, but as long as one had sufficient strength, switching to a popular singing style was no problem.

Lu Chen's interpretation of this song perfectly combined bel canto and popular singing.

"The lark flies over the blue sky, I Love You, China~"

With the first line of lyrics, Lu Chen showcased his vocal talent, almost in a boastful manner, demonstrating his high notes to everyone present, instantly stunning the audience.

Like the first cry of a phoenix echoing through the heavens, he shattered all doubts with his singing.

Many television staff members sitting in the audience straightened their backs, and some even felt their scalps tingle. They couldn't help but hold their breath, focusing intently on Lu Chen's performance.

Their instincts told them that Lu Chen was serious this time; what he brought forth was bound to be a heavyweight piece!

Lu Chen did not disappoint.

His voice was round, bright, and clear, with each note perfectly controlled, exuding both grandeur and tenderness, showcasing precision in every nuance.

Although it was his first time singing, and there was no accompaniment, it felt as if he had sung it a thousand times before!

The initial few lines were nevertheless traditional, each one adhering to the rules, with a distinctly mainstream style.

Then Lu Chen gradually infused a bit of rock flavor, slightly speeding up the rhythm, creating a brilliant buildup for the next section.

By the line "I love your pine-like temperament," Lu Chen's voice changed; it was no longer round and bright. The rock emotion surged with passion, making one feel their blood boiling!

The repeated "I love you" lines were vibrant and stirring, and at this point, he suddenly softened his falsetto, ending with such tenderness after the boldness, showcasing singing skills that truly amazed everyone.

And this was just the beginning.

"…

I Love You, China, I Love You, China,

I want to dedicate the most beautiful song to you, my mother, my motherland~

I Love You, China, I Love You, China,

I love your rolling waves of the South China Sea, I love your snowy Northland~

I love your boundless forests, I love your towering mountains,

I love your babbling rivers, flowing with clear waves through my dreams.

I Love You, China, I Love You, China,

I want to dedicate my beautiful youth to you, my mother, my motherland.

Ah.

I want to dedicate my beautiful youth to you, my mother, my motherland!"

This song "I Love You, China" employs the traditional Chinese writing technique of "Fu Bi Xing," which can be described as a chant of three sighs, with concise wording. The lyrics use repetition and parallelism to vividly depict the spring sprouts and autumn fruits of the motherland, the forests and mountains, and the farmlands, expressing a passionate and sincere patriotic sentiment.

The song consists of three parts: the first part is an introductory section with a freer rhythm, a broad aura, bright and high-pitched tones, and a melody that rises and falls, drawing people into the artistic realm of the lark soaring high above the earth.

The second part is the main body of the song, with a slower rhythm, the melody gradually rising, gentle, profound, and internal, unfolding a magnificent picture scroll of the motherland's beautiful landscapes, deepening the theme of the work.

The third part is the concluding section, which, after the expressive "Ah," pushes the entire song to its climax!

The final line "my mother, my motherland" ends in a high note, containing a fervent patriotic sentiment that feels like drinking fine wine, leaving one slightly intoxicated.

Lu Chen sang through it all in one breath, and he only sang it once!

When the last line "my motherland" was finished, Lu Chen's face was already flushed, a manifestation of the aura used to its fullest, revealing the intense emotions he felt inside.

This song, purely in terms of singing technique, had reached the peak of his previous performances.

Even Lu Chen himself found it a bit unbelievable that he could sing so well, and all the negative emotions he had been suppressing were completely released through his singing, making him feel as if he had laid down an immense burden.

He felt refreshed and completely at ease!

Regardless of whether he would be able to perform solo at Capital City TV's National Day Gala, Lu Chen had no regrets.

This was the pride of being a singer!

The T1 studio of Capital City TV was silent, as if a silent magic had been cast.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

It was unclear who clapped first, but soon everyone was swept up in applause.

The television staff acting as the audience stood up one by one, row after row.

They were not noisy or boisterous; they simply clapped, initially in a disordered manner, but quickly became incredibly synchronized.

The judges sitting in the front also joined in the applause.

The most excited was Gu Rui, who stared at Lu Chen with shining eyes, as if he had discovered a rare treasure!

Lu Zhengzhi's face twitched, and he raised his hand to clap as well.

Whether this Director Lu admitted it or not, Lu Chen's performance was indeed spectacular.

He was fully qualified to stand on the grand stage of Capital City TV!

And his second song "I Love You, China" was undoubtedly a mainstream piece, and among its peers, it was a gem.

If Lu Zhengzhi wanted to deny this, he would truly become a clown.

Thus, whether he liked it or not, he had to give Lu Chen applause.

Even if each clap felt like it was hitting his own face.

The enthusiastic applause lasted for more than half a minute, and if it weren't for Gao Zhixue standing up and signaling everyone to quiet down, it might have continued.

Such a scene had never occurred during the afternoon rehearsal; even when Chen Fei'er performed earlier, she did not receive such enthusiastic applause from the television staff.

Regardless of whether they understood music, they all believed this was a truly good song, a good song within the mainstream!

Gao Zhixue sat back down, smiling as he asked Lu Zhengzhi, "Director Lu, what do you think of Lu Chen's song?"

A hint of mockery was hidden in his eyes.

Although Lu Zhengzhi could not see it, he understood the other party's thoughts and would be lying if he said he wasn't embarrassed.

However, on the surface, he smiled nonchalantly, "Hmm, this song is quite good; it's enough to go on CCTV!"

On CCTV!

Gao Zhixue's pupils suddenly constricted.

He had forgotten that CCTV also had a National Day Gala, which was on a much larger scale and lineup than Jing TV.

Lu Chen's song "I Love You, China," despite its simple lyrics, was filled with moving passion, expressing deep affection for the motherland, allowing people to fully experience a surge of intense emotions.

Such a song could become a classic, and undoubtedly a classic within the mainstream!

As the director of Jing TV's editorial office and a music expert, Gao Zhixue deeply understood how difficult it was to produce a classic mainstream song. This "I Love You, China" would undoubtedly be a highlight of the National Day Gala.

How could he let CCTV take it away?

Gao Zhixue instinctively wanted to refuse.

But Gao Zhixue was not an ordinary person; he swallowed his words.

What time was it now? The rehearsal for CCTV's National Day Gala was much earlier than Jing TV's. If Lu Zhengzhi wanted to push Lu Chen onto CCTV's stage, it was basically impossible.

Those eyeing the Jing TV Gala were likely from the entire Capital City entertainment circle, while those eyeing the CCTV stage were from the whole country!

Lu Zhengzhi was just joking to tease people.

This Old fox!

Gao Zhixue silently cursed but smiled, "If Director Lu is willing to recommend, I would be very happy for Lu Chen to appear at CCTV's National Day Gala!"

Lu Chen was the champion of "Singing China," a rising star nurtured by Capital City TV!

If Lu Zhengzhi truly wanted him, he would indeed be willing to recommend him vigorously.

Lu Zhengzhi regretfully said, "Unfortunately, our gala's program is already full."

He certainly did not genuinely want Lu Chen; he was just saying this to save face.

The two old foxes were engaged in a battle of wits, while Gu Rui beside them could no longer sit still!

He couldn't be bothered to consult Gao Zhixue and spoke directly into the microphone, "Lu Chen, your piece is even more impressive; let's go with this song. Can you bring the complete accompaniment for the rehearsal on the 25th?"

Lu Chen confidently replied, "No problem!"

Of course, there was no problem. Even if he had to work day and night, he would ensure the composing music and accompaniment were ready.

Gu Rui smiled, "That's great."

His emotional intelligence was finally not too low, and he then asked Gao Zhixue, "Director Gao, what do you think?"

Gao Zhixue nodded with a smile, "Sure, let's finalize it."

Thus, Lu Chen's "I Love You, China" was officially confirmed as one of the solo performances for Jing TV's National Day Gala!

"Comrade Little Lu, wait a moment."

Just as Lu Chen was about to leave the stage, Lu Zhengzhi suddenly called him back.

Lu Chen was taken aback.

He heard the director of CCTV's arts program department smilingly ask, "Do you want your work to appear at CCTV's National Day Gala?"
