CHAPTER 76

THE FLIGHT ARRIVED AT ITS DESTINATION, New York. A crowd of people filled the lobby of LaGuardia Airport, waiting for Kenan. Dozens of reporters shared the space with cameramen and security guards, looking for a scoop. In order to avoid exposing the case to the media, they left the bodies on the plane and kept it a secret, pretending that the President was simply not feeling well after the trip.

After going through that frenetic situation, the team redoubled all security measures. No interviews were given, no poses for photographs, no handshakes. The President went straight to the presidential limousine, which would take him to an important hotel in the region.

Kenan needed to get himself together for the event that would take place in just over an hour. The news on television was already showing the crowds that had gathered to see him.
