As Zion stepped through the school gates, a sense of annoyance washed over him. I have to walk again, he grumbled to himself. All the while, he kicked at the pebbles scattered along the path, a small attempt to vent his frustration.
"This isn't so bad; at least I'm working my leg muscles," he reassured himself, puffing up with pride. "I'll look cool and fit, right?" A confident grin spread across his face.
Breathless from her hurried run, Audrey arrived outside the school gate only to find it empty. "It seems Zion has gone far ahead; I've lost him," she sighed, glancing down the street where he had disappeared.
Meanwhile, in Class 1-A, a buzz of excitement filled the air.
"Isn't that Audrey? The only daughter of the mayor!" a girl exclaimed to her friend, wide-eyed with surprise.
"Why is she chasing that guy? I think his name is Zion," another replied, her curiosity piqued.
"He's so handsome," the first girl responded, her tone dreamy.
"Yes, I know! He's more handsome than any celebrity in our country," the second girl added, "But that's not the issue. Didn't Audrey turn down all those proposals? She's never been this close to a man. Is he too good-looking for her to resist?"
"I can't believe Audrey is interested in him just because of his looks. There must be something intriguing about Zion that has caught her attention. But whatever it is, it's none of our business, haha!" her friend laughed, the gossip spreading like wildfire.
Audrey's popularity was undeniable; even the most celebrated figures in the country paled in comparison to her beauty. As word circulated, it reached Alex, one of the suitors who had faced rejection from Audrey. Despite his arrogance, he remained silent, sensing something unusual about Zion. He might be cocky, but he wasn't foolish.
Zion, on the other hand, remained calm and composed, a stark contrast to most of his peers.
Just then, Audrey stood at the school gate, her heart racing as a luxurious car glided to a stop before her. The door swung open, and an elderly man clad in a servant's attire stepped out, bowing respectfully. "It's time to go home, Miss Audrey," he announced, ready to escort her back to the life of privilege and expectation.
