After a quiet breakfast with Audrey, Zion prepared to head back home; he had a mission assigned by the system that needed to be completed soon. As he got ready to leave, he looked at Audrey, who clearly wasn't ready to say goodbye yet.
"I'm heading home, Audrey," Zion said gently, a soft smile on his face.
"Don't you want to stay a bit longer?" Audrey asked, her eyes shining with hope, her voice pleading.
Zion sighed, unable to resist the adorable request. "Alright," he replied, giving in. They ended up spending a few more hours together, savoring the moment without any rush. Sitting beside Audrey, Zion felt a warmth and peace that eased all his worries.
Eventually, though, he knew he had to go. With a heavy heart, he bid her farewell and started toward the door. But just as he was about to step outside, a deep voice called from behind.
"Zion, are you leaving already?" It was Albert, Audrey's father.
"Ah, yes, Uncle. I'll be heading home now," Zion replied, feeling a bit shy. He had spent the night here with Audrey, and now he was facing her father directly.
Albert chuckled, amused by Zion's slight embarrassment. "Hahaha, no worries, Zion. I'll have the driver take you home," he said warmly, as though Zion were part of the family.
"Thank you, Uncle. I really appreciate it," Zion said, feeling relieved and grateful.
After saying goodbye to both Audrey and Albert, Zion was driven back to his apartment. Once he arrived, he dropped his belongings, kicked off his shoes, and threw himself onto the bed, feeling tired but content.
"Yesterday was such a beautiful day… though a bit exhausting," he thought to himself, smiling as memories of the time he'd spent with Audrey came flooding back.
But soon, his thoughts returned to his mission. He sat up, focusing on the task at hand. "Status window," he said.
At his command, a holographic window appeared before him, displaying his status:
Status:
Name: Zion YuuLevel: 31EXP: 100,000/500,000STR: 20DEX: 89INT: 25AGI: 79LUK: ?Stat Points: 21
Inventory: [Kaze Katana, Unidentified Elixir]
Skill: [Shadow Step]
Quest: [Will the master soon enter the new world?]
[Enter / Do Not Enter]
Zion noticed the 21 unused stat points, but for now, he decided to hold onto them. His eyes fell on the quest option to enter a new world.
"Should I go in now?" he murmured, feeling a mix of excitement and hesitation. Thoughts of what might await him in that unknown world filled his mind, along with the possibility that he might not be able to return to Earth.
In the end, he made his choice. "There's no point in waiting… I have to try," he decided firmly, his resolve strengthening. Zion wanted to grow stronger; he wanted to protect the ones he loved. And if this was the way forward, then he would take it, risks and all.
Without another thought, he pressed Enter.
Suddenly, an intense pain shot through his head. Zion's body tensed, his vision wavering as the ache surged through him like an explosion.
"Ugh… why does this hurt so much?" he groaned, clutching his head. "Who set off a bomb in my brain?"
The pain was so overwhelming that he could barely speak. Gritting his teeth, he tried to bear the agony, focusing on staying conscious.
[Please be patient, Host. This is your first teleportation experience. It won't hurt as much the next time.]
The system's voice rang clearly in his ears, though he was in too much pain to respond. His vision blurred, and soon, he slipped into unconsciousness.
Zion awoke in a room he had never seen before. It was grand and lavish, decorated with elegant, medieval-style artwork. Paintings of scenic landscapes and noble figures adorned the walls, and the bed he lay on was impossibly luxurious—far from the simple mattress he had back at his apartment.
Slowly, he regained his senses, the throbbing pain in his head finally starting to fade. "Damn… that was awful," he muttered, pressing a hand to his temple.
He looked around, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings with a mix of curiosity and confusion. "Where am I now?" he wondered aloud, feeling completely disoriented. Everything here was lavish and foreign, nothing like anything he knew from Earth.
"Did I… transmigrate?" he asked himself, his mind still reeling from the sudden change.
[Host is now in another world.]
[Host is currently in the Kingdom of Evalon, located on the Eastern Continent.]
The system began explaining the basics of this new world. The Eastern Continent, where he had arrived, was inhabited by humans and home to several kingdoms, including the Kingdom of Evalon, where he currently found himself.
Aside from the Eastern Continent, there were also other continents—West, South, North, and Central—but for now, the system lacked any further information on those regions.
