The announcement left the students speechless, their wide eyes and murmurs of excitement filling the air. They had experienced tournaments before, but this was different. Envoys from Starverge College—one of the most prestigious institutions among the top nine in the city—were actually present. For many students, this was beyond anything they had dared to imagine.
Just the name Starverge inspired awe; it was a place where only the best of the best could dream of going. Admission into Starverge wasn't something that came from high grades alone. Without a personal invitation or extraordinary achievement, no one could even set foot in the college, let alone enter the entrance examination process.
The students exchanged glances. This tournament wasn't just a chance to show off their skills—it was a direct opportunity to catch the eye of one of the most elite institutions in the land.
The students were rilled up and excited. Even though they were excited, they didn't let it get to their head and the fear of Mrs Lorraine was still constant in their minds.
Mrs. Lorraine nodded approvingly as she scanned the crowd, noting the focused expressions on her students' faces. Pleased that they were calm and attentive, she continued with a slight smile.
"Furthermore, there will be special rewards for the top three competitors—prizes that will be personally awarded by the envoys from the colleges themselves," she announced.
A collective murmur of excitement rippled through the classhall. The students exchanged eager glances, imagining what kind of treasures would be shared. Silver-grade Monsters, Combat techniques, evolution cores or Evolved Weapons? Or perhaps even invitations to private training sessions with renowned Beastmasters?
The air was thick with anticipation. The students were already sizing up each others, knowing that they had to defeat their class mates to gain this opportunity.
"A random number will be sent to your emails in a few minutes. These numbers would determine who you fight with. Also, at the end of this announcement, an Evolution Meal would be given to you guys, to increase your beats strength and chances."
"The principal had especially headed to a dimensional portal and hinted this beast for you guys. So don't waste this opportunity."
"Now, you all have one hour to prepare your mind. After that, head over to the School's Main Battle Stage and get ready to showcase everything you have."
Mrs Lorraine gestured at the entrance of the hall and a huge cart containing large amounts of steak in them was rolled out.
"Line up in an orderly fashion and come collect your Evolution Meal."
As she said this, the students all stood up and rushed to form a singular line.
However, they didn't dare to be unruly and made sure to anger Mrs Lorraine anymore.
But they were extremely excited about the Evolution Meal.
Simply put, an evolution meal is the meat of a high level Levithian, Collosals or Demonic Beasts. This meat contains massive amounts of energy that could advance the strength of ordinary Monsters from one level to another.
Ezra especially needs this sort of Meal as his monster was still only a level one Beast. Despite the fact that it was a silver grade beast, if the difference in levels were three or four levels higher, he would be defeated by the others.
However, compared to how he was before, he could at least put up a fight.
He knew that winning this competition for his was highly unlikely as other student's symbioses had likely surpassed the fourth level.
The only way he could quickly advance his Symbiote was to find more high level meat. However, Ezra didn't have enough money to purchase even the lowest grade evolution meat.
Just as he was thinking of this, it was his turn to accept evolution meal.
Mrs Lorraine gave Ezra a smile as she gave him his potion of evolution meal.
"Here, Ezra. Don't worry too much about things alright?"
Ezra gave her back a polite smile and accepted it. He knew she was trying to apologize about earlier and knew she didn't mean what said to come out mean.
The students twisted her wordds in their own twisted ways hence Ezra wasn't remotely mad. Even if she meant it, it didn't matter much to him.
"Thank you, Mrs Lorraine."
Ezra grabbed the disposable plate and turned around to leave the hall.
…
A few minutes later, Ezra arrived at a secluded corner of the school along with the Wrathram. He was extremely excited and couldn't wait to link once more with his symbiote.
Opening the disposable plate, the Evolution meal came into view and it wasn't what Ezra was expecting.
The meat was cooked medium rare and wasn't raw as Ezra had expected it to be.
"The school really wants another talent to show up in this place." Ezra chuckled and didn't hesitate as he spoke.
"Beast-link."
Everything instantly went dark when suddenly, an explosion went off in his head.
"BOOM!"
An assortment of senses flooded his mind as he experienced a drastic change in perspective.
"Rrrrr!"
A growl escaped his lips as he felt an immense strength fill his body to the max. His previously fragile body seem to have become something of a tank as his consciousness entered the body of the Wrathram.
In the blink of an eye, his vision sharpened as he could now see things in 280 view. Just a little bit more and he could see behind him.
He focused a bit more and everything turned into a blur as his eyes zoomed in. He could see specks of dust floating about in the air. He could even see the grain of sand on the ground as they shook due to the vibration from his movement.
His sense of smell increased that he could even smell what his real body ate last night. His hearing also improved, as well as other sense.
Gazing at his hands, they were now of claws. Even his flesh were now dark-metallic furs.
Reaching up, he ran a claw over the four horns that curved back from his head. They were sharp and hard, feeling more like weapons than just horns. His claws, too, were thick and deadly, perfect for tearing through anything that got in his way. When he exhaled, steam poured from his nostrils like he was breathing fire, thick and hot in the cool air.
