Ambush By Another Squad

The two low sounds rang and the two bullets instantly split through the space and headed towards the Death gate that had just successfully decapitated the Hunter.

The sound rang, but the bullets moved at a couple times faster than the speed of sound, so the bullets arrived before the Death gate squad could even hear anything!

"The tendon of a Hunter monster's tail is worth quite a bit". With a "CHI" sound of Ezra's Cypher Blade, it drew across the tail and took out the transparent tendon. Ezra looked at Faze beside him and laughed, "Faze sure is strong. With that collision with the Hunter just now, you was spitting out blood. Thought you were dead, but it seems like you are perfectly fine now!"

"Are you stupid? Should I just force the blood back down instead of spitting it out? The damage will be even worse that way!" said Faze jokingly as he laughed.

"Alright, let's get these one by one" laughed John.

"Nice tattoo though." Ezra complimented as he noticed the drawing of a black dragon tattoo on Mellisa's wrist.

Mellisa stared at him for a few seconds before nodding with a smile, covering up the tattoo with her sleeve.

The four members of the Death gate squad were in quite a good mood. Mellisa squatted next to the Hunter while dissecting it and checking for a Blood demon heart. Of course, the Hunter's corpse was the hardest to dissect.

The group had been able to take down the five Borged zombies along with the Hunter after a bit of struggle, therefore, they were incredibly happy about it and laughed merrily.

"Hm?"

As if Ezra's body had caught fire, his eyes instantly widened. He could feel an intense sense of danger overwhelmed him like a tide:——the air before him became hazy and illusory and a bullet could be seen tearing through the void!

The speed of the bullet was at least 10 times faster than the speed of the Hunter! Ezra didn't even have time to yell out a warning.

Under immense stress, Ezra's body instantly started pumping out adrenaline, and his without hesitation, his second heart which was in hibernation at the right side if his chest started beating at an alarming rate.

"Thump!" "Thump!!" "Thump!!!"

All the hairs on his body stood up on end and his body was pushed to a limit never seen nor witnessed before!

Even the Dust that was sleeping deep within him spread out across his entire body automatically!

A life or death situation!

Human's innate survival instinct caused Ezra's body and spiritual force to instantly reach their limit!

"PU!"

The armor piercing bullet tore through the air and shot towards Ezra's brain.

Ezra used the Cypher Blade that was dissecting the Hunter's tail to block the bullet. He pushed his body to its limit and used all of his power to swing his blade around. While his waist exerted its first force, it actually had time to exert a second force!

Everything fell into place! Facing death, his body was able to naturally exert the second force while his concentration and body were at their limits.

It actually worked!

The speed of the Cypher Blade instantly flew up!

"Accelerate!" Ezra's second hear pounded like piston and his strength, speed and reaction speed increased dramatically!

This made his muscles brain and limbs react even faster, letting his blade move with astonishing speed!

"MOVE!"

Without delay, the increase in his reaction speed was immediate! His moving blade that had previously reached MACH 1 was further boosted by his second heart as he surpassed his limit.

His blade 'Swished' even faster, surpassing MACH 2,MACH 3, and reaching MACH 4, just barely enough for his blade to reach the bullet.

And with a "CLANG!", Ezra's Cypher Blade directly hit the armor piercing bullet.

The tip of the armor piercing bullet pushed into the blade and then was redirected.

"PENG!"

The other armor piercing bullet was aimed at 'Mellisa's' brain.

According to the Lion Heart squad's plan, the first bullet was meant to kill the strongest member of the Death gate squad, Mellisa. So the second was meant for the second strongest. The two bullets were prepared for Ezra and Mellisa!

And Mellisa, who was currently checking for Blood Demon art had her back turned towards the bullet, didn't see the armor piercing bullet at all.

"PU!" the dagger in Mellisa's hand ferociously cut through the scale of the Hunter. This force made his body sway, and the bullet that was aimed for her brain got off target. Right when she was about to feel the toughness of the Hunters scale.

The super fast armor piercing bullet just barely grazed Mellisa's ear as it flew by. The rapid airflow caused Mellisa's ear to start bleeding.

"PENG!"

The armor piercing bullet cruelly landed on John's shoulder, who was beside Mellisa. And the shot that is able to burst open a Iron level monster's scales instantly shattered the bones and muscles in John's shoulder. With a BOOM, John's left shoulder directly flew up, and, "PU-CHI", the blood started spraying out like a fountain.

"AHH!" John cried out in agony and surprise.

"A sniper rifle bullet!"

Mellisa looked at John's broken shoulder spraying out fresh blood. Some of the blood even sprayed onto Mellisa, which caused Mellisa's eyes to turn red. She growled furiously!

"Enemy attack!"

"Which bastard!" Faze and Ezra also yelled angrily.

While they yelled out of rage, virtually all the members of the Death gate squad started moving around quickly. There's no one who would dare to stand in the same location while being aimed at by a sniper. Mellisa was only able to dodge the bullet because, by chance, her dagger made her body sway or maybe she had actually noticed something...

"PENG!" "PENG!" "PENG!" "PENG!"

Four more gunshots!

"That way!" Mellisa, Ezra, and the others all looked towards the gunshots' source with red eyes.

On the rooftop far away, the shadows swayed and disappeared.

"It's the Lion Heart squad!" Mellisa clenched her teeth, "LION HEART!!!"
