Video Games and Forgotten Memories

Playing the fighting game with Folia he was losing horribly but he kept trying. Each time was a quick failure but at the same time he could feel his control over his psychic connection growing stronger. He was able to move around a little better with the controller but it was still very taxing on him.

Folia giggled each time and continued to school him each and every moment she got. "Geeze I think you are better now than you were before." She mocked him while laughing. "Want a soda? Oh wait you can't really taste anything in that form I assume. Well more for me!"

She went to the mini fridge under the TV and grabbed a refreshing soda. She sat back down, grabbed her controller, and started another match but Doric was beginning to feel drained.

"I don't know if I can do another round. I might be sleeping right now but I don't think I will be getting very restful sleep because of you." He mumbled as he drifted towards the bed. She looked at him and frowned. Her controller was laid down on the ground haphazardly as she continued sipping her pop.

"So what do you want to do? It's not like you actually need to sleep in that form. I just pulled you into your own mind so we could chat a bit." She looked at the ground and Doric could feel a loneliness inside of himself. Emanating from her.

"I haven't had guests for a long time and you're the only one who can see me. Am I boring you already? We can do something else if you like Big Bro…" Her voice was quiet and she continued to look at the ground.

Doric felt a small bit of pain as he felt bad leaving her here like this. How long had she been alone, what was her life like this entire time? "Alright, I will stay a little while longer." He said with a sigh. "But can we play something that requires less effort on my part? I am feeling ghost pains from constantly using my powers.

She jumped up and down and nodded her head in excitement. "Of course, I have board games and all kinds of things we can do, you name it I probably have it. What about a trading card game I have over a dozen different ones!"

She began going through her closet pulling out different board games and card games and for a split moment there Doric felt a sense of deja vu. "We've done this before haven't we?"

She stopped pulling out games. Her face was to the closet. With a quiet response, she uttered.

"Yea…so many times."

Doric tried hard to remember what she was talking about but the more he tried the further away that memory became. As if hiding itself from him. "Did we know each other at some point?"

A tear hit the ground from where she was standing. Her voice shook a little as she tried to control herself. "Uhuh, very well, Big Bro…"

He wanted to ask another question but he knew that it was only causing her more pain. So he left it at that. "Did you still want to play a game?"

She rubbed her eyes with her arm and looked at her games.

"Yea, uh, we have…umh…" She continued to try to think but the tears would not stop flowing down her face. "We. uh…have…welll…" She broke down her knees hitting the floor as she kept crying.

"Why won't you remember me!" She cried out and just like that he snapped back into reality. A feeling of deep regret and loneliness filled his very being.

When the flicker returned to his eyes he saw it was near morning. Skia was sleeping still and watching her was kinda terrifying. Shadows danced around her flickering in the candlelight which seemed to almost have faces looking at Doric.

Turning his attention to Nyssa he saw she was sleeping without a care in the world. Her hand on her belly and the other on the side of the bed. Scratching her stomach a little and talking in her sleep, a big smile on her face.

"Oh come on now, just a little taste?" He chuckled to himself as the dawn of a new day flooded their room. Slowly waking up, both the girls stretched and looked at Doric with a smile. Skia waved and Nyssa sleepliy yawned and looked around.

"Is there anything to eat, I am starving," Nyssa mumbled half awake, her stomach growling. Skia chuckled and pointed to the plate next to her bed. "It looks like last night's dinner is still fresh."

Nyssa's eyes lit up as she looked over the dinner it was in fact so fresh it was still steaming warm. "I don't know what magic they used to keep it like this but it's perfect!"

She dug in forgetting to breath a few times and choking on her own food before downing some water next to her plate. As she did a knock was heard at the door.

Doric went to the door and opened it. He felt a surge of power as he did almost slamming the door open he caught it just in time to not damage the wall.

"Woah I don't remember being this strong!" He exclaimed as he saw the purple sprite from earlier dancing around the corridor in front of him. She smiled and waved to them.

"Hey there, it's me mauve, from yesterday. Remember! The master would like to see you again. If you have time that is." She giggled and continued dancing around the hall.

"Of course, lead the way," Doric responded excited to finally learn some real magic. Mauve smiled and looked at the two girls. "He prepared a breakfast feast if you two are interested.

Nyssa's eyes lit up with an intensity that was only matched by a starving wolf. "I'm in!"

Skia laughed and stood up. "I think she might be food motivated, what do you think Doric?"

Doric clicked his teeth as he laughed. "Well, it's good someone enjoys food at least. Thank's Mauve, please lead the way.
