Synopsis:

Alex Caldwell, a laid-back and unassuming young man, once led an ordinary life. But his fate changed drastically when a fragment of  universe origin—the shard—bonded to his soul, granting him the ability to shape any ability of his choice. 
As Alex explores his newfound abilities---the cognichip--- he keeps a low profile, maintaining his job at a small bookkeeping firm and indulging in simple curiosities while quietly refining his mental strength and more powerful soul power.

Having traveled from the Phoenix Dominion to the Free States in the South, Alex was ready to take the next steps in the technology roll out. The world had evolved and was primed for a major leap, and his recent observations confirmed it, the people need an enemy, otherwise they will tear society apart with their powers and need to show strength bans authority.

Through Eva, he connected with Max, the acting CEO of Powergen and his trusted ally, to deliver instructions on the next wave of advancements.

"Eva, let Max know I'm ready to greenlight the release of our latest developments," Alex instructed.

The screen flickered as Eva relayed Max's text response: "Standing by for directives, Alex."

Alex continued, his thoughts organized and direct. "The perfected nuclear reactors are ready for rollout. We've streamlined them for high efficiency, minimal environmental impact, and reduced need for maintenance. These should be set up across major cities. And, of course, start producing the new suits—powered by miniaturized nuclear cells. They should last longer and reduce energy dependence."

"Got it. Setting up manufacturing," came Max's reply through Eva.

"Good," Alex responded, then paused, considering his next words. "Now, there's something bigger. I'm ready to launch the virtual reality network."

Max's response appeared immediately: "Are we opening full access, or will there be limitations?"

"Access will be open, but there will be a few hidden restrictions. In the virtual reality, users can manifest any ability they choose." Alex allowed a small grin as he elaborated. "The VR's main AI will create bodies with an embedded AI tag that reads users' intentions, manifesting the abilities they imagine. But they'll only perceive the results, not the mechanics behind it."

"Impressive. That's going to make waves," Max responded.

Alex glanced down at the screen as he added one more detail. "Yes, to them the environment will be 100% real, but they won't be able to research cosmic energy. The system will hit a barrier if anyone tries, it can't stimulate that."

Alex felt satisfaction as he imagined the world experiencing virtual reality on a level they'd only dreamed of. Every user would find themselves in a tailored world of their making, unaware of the complex backend that translated their intentions into powers. His virtual reality network was a 70% match to Earth's natural laws, enabling full immersion—anything they could think of, they could try.

As he closed his conversation with Max, Cognichip flashed a message:

"Matrix creation complete. Theory analysis estimated completion in one year. Completion will enable development of phenomena outside observable reality."

Alex nodded thoughtfully at the prompt, aware of the broader possibilities this opened. Once the theories were in place, he could begin constructing phenomena that couldn't even exist in the real world. For now, though, the basics of matrix creation would be enough to lay the foundation.

With the groundwork underway, Alex knew the advancements he was pushing out would shape a new world—one ready for the mysteries still to be unlocked.
