Under the cover of night, Kaede and Mirei held onto each other in a close embrace, basking in the warmth of a long-awaited reunion. They shared a quick glance around the dimly lit street. checking for anyone who might recognize Mirei despite her beanie and sunglasses. The coast seemed clear, and they left the venue hand-in-hand, laughter bubbling between them as they made their way back to Kaede's apartment.

As they walked, Mirei playfully nudged Kaede, her eyes twinkling. "You know, I really thought I wouldn't make it tonight," she teased, "but seeing you perform-Kaede, you were incredible."

Kaede felt a blush rise to her cheeks, and she looked away, trying to keep her composure. "I mean... I wasn't expecting you," she stammered, "so I'm glad you could come

Mirei grinned, reaching over to ruffle Kaede's hair, "Glad? That's all I get? Just "glad"? I was hoping for 'eternally grateful or at least 'in love with my amazing, supportive girlfriend Mirei!"

Kaede rolled her eyes, shoving Mirei lightly. "You're too much, you know that? But... I really am grateful. Having you here meant everything."

After a few blocks, Mirei gave Kaede's hand a gentle squeeze and broke the silence with a smirk. "You know, I've got a lot of time tonight," she said, her tone warm but unmistakably playful. "I don't have any obligations until the afternoon tomorrow, so... I want to spend the night with you."

Kaede stopped mid-step, her cheeks immediately heating up as Mirei's words sank in. She looked up at her girlfriend, who was watching her with a mischievous grin, clearly amused by Kaede's reaction. Kaede stammered, trying to think of a witty reply, but all she could manage was a flustered, "Oh... y-you do?"

Mirei chuckled, leaning closer to whisper, "What? Surprised? Or... maybe excited?"

Kaede's face turned an even deeper shade of red, and she looked away, trying to hide her flustered expression. "M-Maybe... both," she mumbled, unable to meet Mirei's eyes.

"Oh, Kaede, you're too cute," Mirei teased, bumping her playfully. "It's one of the things I missed most about you."

They continued walking, and the conversation flowed naturally, drifting from lighthearted teasing to updates about their lives. Mirei shared funny behind-the-scenes stories about her group and Kaede laughed, forgetting her nerves, as they swapped stories and reminisced. Despite their time apart, it felt like no distance had come between them, their connection as strong as ever.

They'd gone months without this- without late-night conversations, lingering glances, and the gentle thrill of being close to each other again. And yet, despite the time apart, it felt as though no distance had ever separated them.

When they finally reached Kaede's building, Kaede fiddled with her keys, slightly nervous about Mirei seeing the state of her place. She'd been so busy lately that tidying up had fallen to the wayside.

"Uh... sorry for the mess," Kaede said, flustered, as they entered the apartment. She made a half-hearted attempt to kick stray clothes and papers under the sofa with her foot. She carefully placed her guitar case down in the room.

Mirei laughed and waved it off. "Relax, it's totally fine. I know how hard you're working. Plus," she added with a mischievous glint, "it's pretty cute to see you so... real."

As Kaede locked the door behind them, she turned around to find Mirel standing close with a playful smirk, her gaze warm but intense. The room suddenly felt charged, and Kaede's heart began to race. Mirei took a slow step forward, her smirk widening.

"What?" Kaede's voice came out barely above a whisper.

Without another word, Mirei closed the distance between them, pinning Kaede between her and the door, her lips crashing onto Kaede's in a hard, deep kiss that left Kaede breathless. Her hands moved up to cup Kaede's face, pulling her in closer. Kaede felt the world around her fade, consumed by the warmth and the urgency in Mirei's kiss. The gentle sound of their breathing filled the space, broken only by Mirei's hushed words as she pulled back slightly.

"I missed you so much, Kaede..."

Kaede could barely respond as Mirei leaned back in, her lips capturing hers once more in a cascade of passionate, intense kisses. Mirei's hands traveled down, finding the edges of Kaede's jacket and pushing it off her shoulders with an eagerness that set Kaede's skin ablaze.

Kaede's hands moved instinctively, mirroring Mirei's urgency, pulling off Mirei's jacket and letting it drop to the floor. She allowed Mirei to guide her backward toward the sofa, their lips never parting. When the edge of the sofa pressed against Mirei's knees, she sank down onto it, pulling Kaede down with her until Kaede lay atop her, their bodies pressed close together.

Kaede's hands roamed over Mirel's shoulders, tracing the familiar curves and lines, while her lips trailed from Mirei's mouth down to her neck. Mirei let out a soft gasp, encouraging her. The sound was electrifying, urging Kaede on as she felt Mirei's fingers tangle in her hair, pulling her closer.

Their movements grew slower yet more intense, savoring each touch, each whispered confession. "I'm so proud of you, Kaede... seeing you up there, living your dream..." Mirei's voice was filled with a quiet admiration that made Kaede's heart ache with happiness.

"Thank you... thank you for being here with me tonight," Kaede murmured, her voice thick with emotion as she held Mirei tightly, not wanting the moment to end.

The world outside was forgotten. In the warmth of Kaede's apartment, they shared everything that words alone couldn't express-joy, longing, relief, and the steadfast love that had brought them back to each other. As the night stretched on, they continued their gentle, unspoken dance, rediscovering one another under the glow of the city lights beyond the window.

After the passionate reunion, Kaede lay nestled in Mirei's arms on the sofa, the warmth of their embrace lulling her into a peaceful haze. She felt Mirei's fingertips gently tracing patterns along her arm, a soothing, rhythmic touch that made her feel like she was floating. They lay in a comfortable silence, neither needing to say a word as they soaked in each other's presence.

Just as Kaede was beginning to drift off, she noticed Mirei glance at the clock on the wall. Mirei's eyes widened slightly, a mischievous smile curving her lips as she looked down at Kaede, her gaze brimming with affection.

"Happy Birthday, Kaede," Mirei whispered softly, her voice warm and tender.

Kaede blinked, momentarily surprised. In the whirlwind of preparing for Chasing Stardust's first live performance, she had completely forgotten today was her birthday. A blush crept onto her cheeks as she looked up at Mirei, feeling a mixture of surprise and gratitude.

"Oh... thank you, Mirei," Kaede murmured, her voice barely a whisper. She felt a warmth bloom in her chest, and she snuggled closer, the realization making the night feel even more special. Mirei's thoughtfulness was a reminder of just how much she cared, and Kaede felt incredibly lucky to have her by her side.

Mirei sighed softly, brushing a stray strand of hair from Kaede's face. "I'm sorry," she said with a slight pout. "I didn't have time to get a cake. But…" She reached into her bag, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "I did get you something."

Kaede sat up, curiosity sparking in her gaze as Mirei held out a small, elegant box. When Kaede opened it, her breath caught. Inside was a custom set of guitar picks, each crafted beautifully, with Mirei's signature on one side and Kaede's name etched on the other in delicate script.

"Mirei… these are beautiful," Kaede whispered, her voice laced with awe and gratitude. She picked up one of the picks, running her fingers over the smooth surface. The thoughtful, personalized touch made her heart swell with happiness, and her eyes grew misty as she looked back at Mirei.

"I wanted you to have something personal, something you can take with you every time you perform," Mirei said softly. "I'll always be there, cheering you on."

Kaede's lips trembled with a wide smile, and she squeezed Mirei's hand. "Thank you, Mirei… this means so much to me." She leaned in, pressing a tender kiss to Mirei's cheek before pulling her into a tight embrace.

As they settled back into their warm cuddle, Kaede felt a new level of excitement and comfort, knowing she was surrounded by Mirei's unwavering support. It was a birthday she'd never forget.

They stayed in each other's arms, wrapped in a contented silence as they continued to hold one another, the city lights casting a gentle glow around them.
