Chapter 23: Mobius Has a Bad Morning Temper

"Want to? Of course, I do." Jun An nodded without hesitation. "I look at works featuring you every day."

Jun An dabbled in everything—3D Zone content, manga, novels.

"Is that so? Does that mean the Captain is also a fan of mine?" Elysia didn't sense anything amiss, simply assuming the Captain was referring to the normal videos she usually recorded.

After cracking a dirty joke with the pure Elysia, Jun An immediately pulled away from her soft embrace and asked, "Right, I need to take care of some proper business this time. Where did Mobius go?"

"I'm so envious," Elysia said, sounding a little resentful. "The Captain is so eager to find Mobius right after arriving. I'm getting a bit jealous."

"Alright, this really is important business," Jun An said seriously. "After my resurrection, my body reset to how it was when I was fourteen or fifteen. That means my current body is only at the level of an ordinary Stigmata Awakener. I need power now."

"Are you going off to do something alone again?" Elysia immediately looked unhappy. "You can totally rely on everyone, can't you? Like Himeko, or your other old flames."

This wasn't the first time Jun An had courted death. While his fighting style, risking his life constantly, was awe-inspiring, it was also worrying.

Besides, things were different now compared to back then, when Jun An was the only one with top-tier combat power in reality.

"If there's an enemy you want to deal with, one bullet from Kiana can blow them to smithereens for you."

"Of course, I know that." In fact, Jun An wouldn't feel the slightest psychological pressure relying on Kiana and the others.

However, the enemies in this world were quite difficult, and the trend of "villains getting ten times stronger while redeemed heroes get nerfed by a third" was even more pronounced. During the Great Honkai Eruption period, the only ones who could really fight were Jun An and a gluttonous Theresa, which was why Jun An had pushed himself harder.

The current situation certainly allowed him to rely on Kiana.

But if the tentative enemy was Su, then he had likely already retreated deep into the Sea of Quanta, impossible to even catch.

After all, one slap from Kiana could probably reduce Su to ashes.

"But the problem is, the enemy has already made a move. The target might be me, it might be Earth, or it might be Kiana," Jun An replied. "Kiana can protect Earth indefinitely, but we can't just hunker down on Earth forever. Besides, it has already shown hostility. We need someone to defend home, and someone to take the initiative to attack."

A Planet-Busting level combat power had already initiated an attack. Regardless of whether the opponent's actions were intentional or not, humanity couldn't remain ignorant of this potential threat indefinitely.

"Besides, I've already died once. I'm the most suitable person to be a wild card," Jun An stated his reasoning, leaving Elysia with no grounds to object.

"I won't stop you, but please be careful this time, okay?" Elysia cupped Jun An's face, looking earnestly into his eyes. Jun An found it hard to meet that intense gaze.

Jun An gave a slight nod. "I'll try my best."

Watching her husband making eyes with another girl, Himeko felt a distinct pang of jealousy.

So, she immediately separated the two who were feeding dog food right in front of the main wife and dragged Elysia off to drink with Eden.

She wasn't worried about anything else, just that Jun An might suddenly catch on and add Elysia to his harem.

After all, besides "Theresa is the world's cutest," one of the Captain's most frequent sayings was "I will always love Elysia." Himeko wasn't ready to share her husband so soon.

As for Theresa? She was just a dowry maid.

Although Elysia was reluctant to leave, she immediately gave up when she heard the Super Transformation surgery would take a long time. Better to just drink and wait slowly.

Jun An didn't mind either way. It was just a matter of entering the Elysian Realm and walking a short distance. With his current combat power, as long as he didn't run into Kalpas in the Elysian Realm, he wouldn't be in any real danger.

After all, if he couldn't win, he could still run. He and Pardo had long since figured out this place.

Jun An followed the familiar path through the Elysian Realm. Since his purpose wasn't exploration, he directly bypassed the Honkai Beasts to avoid combat.

And his luck was good; he didn't encounter Kalpas.

Jun An quickly arrived at the area where Mobius resided. It was the same as before; the scenery formed from her memories was a sea of green, giving off an eerie feeling just by looking at it.

"Mobius, are you there?" Jun An shouted at Mobius's operating room. This was Mobius's special area; generally, no one could enter without her invitation, except for Elysia.

Jun An was quite surprised; he hadn't expected the door leading to the laboratory to open just as he arrived.

Jun An entered the laboratory and happened to see Klein covering Mobius with a sheet.

"What's wrong with her?" Jun An looked at Mobius's sleeping form with some confusion. Generally, memory simulacra didn't need sleep unless they wanted to, like Pardo taking lazy naps. Otherwise, fighting tens of thousands of Honkai Beasts continuously wouldn't be a problem, like Kalpas.

"Ah, are you a new visitor?" Klein sized up Jun An. Upon realizing he looked remarkably like a certain deceased person, her expression clearly showed she'd seen a ghost.

"I'm Jun An, Captain of the Hyperion," Jun An explained. "I revived through certain means. I need Mobius for something right now. What's wrong with her?"

"Oh, revived... The Doctor has done similar experiments before." As Mobius's assistant, Klein was quite unfazed by various strange occurrences. She quickly accepted the current situation and made a "shush" gesture. "The Doctor is sleeping. Since memory simulacra don't necessarily need sleep, you can wake her anytime. But I suggest you wait until I leave before waking her. Lately, because of your funeral, she's been having a rather bad morning temper."

Klein wore a troubled expression. "Every time I wake her up for work, she always insists on kneading my face for a while."

Jun An understood. Klein's small, baby-like face indeed made one want to pinch and knead it, much like Book of Fuxi's feet—it made one curious about the texture.

After speaking, Klein scurried away on her short legs, leaving the area rapidly.

Jun An looked at Mobius's sleeping face. It seemed like she had just been crying; the corners of her eyes were a little red. Jun An snapped a photo before reaching out to pinch her cheek.

"Mobius, wake up."

Hearing a familiar voice murmuring by her ear, Mobius groggily opened her eyes. Through her blurred vision, she saw a fuzzy red figure.

"Little Guinea Pig... I knew I'd dream of you again."

Indeed, if one dreamt something once and quickly fell back asleep, there was a high chance the dream would continue.

"It's really me. Are you still half-asleep?" Jun An looked helplessly at Mobius. She was supposed to be one of the brains among the MANTIS warriors; why did she seem so dazed right after waking up?

"People in dreams don't say it's a dream!" Mobius's head was clearly still fuzzy. She flashed a predatory smile, lunged forward, embraced Jun An, and pushed him down. "The real Little Guinea Pig isn't this small, is he?"

Time to feast!
