Gedeon took a deep breath, his eyes locked on Arthur's. "Lyra has been working with us all along," he repeated. "She was sent by the king to infiltrate the sorcerer's ranks and gather information."
Arthur's eyes widened in shock. "What?" he repeated. "Why didn't she tell me?"
Gedeon shrugged. "She was sworn to secrecy," he said. "The king didn't want anyone to know about her mission, not even you."
Arthur's mind was reeling. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Lyra, the traitor, was actually working for the king all along?
Lord Ravenswood's expression turned pale. "No," he whispered. "It can't be."
Arthur's eyes locked on Lord Ravenswood. "You're not going anywhere," he said.
And with that, Arthur turned to Gedeon. "Tell me everything," he said.
Gedeon nodded, a smile spreading across his face. "It's a long story," he said. "But I think you're going to like it."
Gedeon took a deep breath, launching into the story. "Lyra was sent by the king to infiltrate the sorcerer's ranks," he said. "She was tasked with gathering information and waiting for the perfect moment to strike."
Arthur's eyes widened in amazement. "That's incredible," he said. "I had no idea."
Gedeon nodded. "Lyra was very careful," he said. "She played the role of the traitor perfectly, all the while gathering information and waiting for the perfect moment to strike."
Arthur's mind was racing with questions. "But why did she betray me?" he asked.
Gedeon's expression turned serious. "Lyra was forced to make a difficult choice," he said. "She had to choose between her loyalty to the king and her loyalty to you. In the end, she chose to protect the kingdom, even if it meant betraying you."
Arthur's eyes narrowed. "I understand," he said. "But I'm still hurt. I trusted her, and she betrayed that trust."
Gedeon nodded. "I know," he said. "But Lyra is sorry. She never meant to hurt you, and she's willing to do whatever it takes to make it right."
Arthur's expression softened. "I appreciate that," he said. "But I need time to think. I need to process everything that's happened."
Gedeon nodded. "I understand," he said. "Take all the time you need. We'll be here when you're ready."
As Gedeon left, Arthur couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. He was angry, hurt, and confused, but he was also relieved. Relieved that Lyra was actually working for the king, and relieved that the truth had finally been revealed.
But as he sat there, trying to process everything that had happened, Arthur couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Something didn't add up.
And then, it hit him. A realization that made his blood run cold.
"Lyra," he whispered, his eyes wide with fear. "What have you done?"
But it was too late. Lyra was gone, and Arthur was left with more questions than answers.
The battle was far from over, and Arthur was more determined than ever. He would do whatever it took to protect the kingdom, and he would do it with honor.
But as he sat there, trying to process everything that had happened, Arthur couldn't shake the feeling that he was in grave danger. Danger that threatened not just the kingdom, but his very life.
And then, everything went black.
