Sebastian locked the door behind him as he entered the bathroom.
He turned on the sink so the water would be loud enough, making sure the werewolf couldn't hear him. Sebastian leaned against the wall and asked, "What's going on?"
His father's voice sounded weary and tired for some reason, and his father said, "I'm fine, son. I just miss you."
Sebastian felt his heart tugged in a bittersweet way, and he sighed deeply, and he said with a genuine smile, "I missed you, too. Are you okay? You sound very tired."
His father, Caspain, said, "Don't worry about me, your old man. Your mother is doing a little better. Taking her to the art museum had helped a little, but then we ended up talking about many things of the past."
Both of them talked for a while, and peace fell over them like a warm blanket. The raging bloodlust within Sebastian had reduced, making it easier for his fangs to disappear.
