The dark horizon stretched endlessly as Sania and Hassan approached the city, their footsteps light against the damp earth. Ahsan Mirza, ever the cautious detective, trailed slightly behind, his sharp eyes scanning the unfamiliar terrain. The invitation from Mayor Sebastian had been unexpected, and though the promise of a city where humans and vampires coexisted in harmony was alluring, none of them could shake the feeling that something was amiss.

As they neared the city gates, the architecture struck them immediately. Towering buildings gleamed under the soft glow of streetlights, blending gothic structures with sleek modern designs. The streets were unusually quiet, almost unnervingly so, as if the city itself held its breath.

"This place is... different," Hassan murmured, squeezing Sania's hand.

"No guards at the entrance? No checkpoints?" Ahsan added, his voice edged with suspicion.
