A merchant stumbles on a grotto, lost. He eats his last apple. The merchant plants the seeds the next day to provide food for future lost travelers. 

And so, the nymph Theanore is born.

She would grow from a tiny seed to a splendid apple tree. She would meet many friends. Theanore will try her hand at being a merchant like her father. And she will get to know her lifetime companion, the merman Marinus.

But as every farmer can tell you, apple trees live only for about 150 years and so, with her tree dried up, so will Theanore die.

 But before that, she will live.

The Apple Grotto Nymph (Dungeon Core Fairy Tale)

Theanore and Marinus were making a giant snowman with the help of Darion. It was snowing heavily, and the enchantment lessons had been cancelled.

Armed with gloves and hats, the children were playing in the snow, cheeks red and noses runny.

"And now for the nose. Place the stick," Darion commanded as Marinus raised on his tiptoes to place a stick inside the snowman's head.

But he overestimated the sturdiness of said head, and the stick went right through it.

"Oh, no! Mr. Snowman has a boo boo," Theanore said as she scooped some snow and went to plunge the hole left by the stick.

But she, too, didn't consider that snow was light, and the whole head came down.

The two children shared a look and then bowed their heads. A minute of silence flew by for the dead snowman.
