Chapter 11: Trouble Drawing Near

Yiss could feel warm blood gushing out from her arm and head.

Lina tried sitting up, but her arms were terribly bruised.

"Yes! This forest will now drink your blood!"

Dil said with excitement while reaching for his sword.

Upon touching the grip, everyone heard loud stomps of people in armour.

Dil's body shook in fear.

Lina tried getting up, but Dil kicked her down.

He got his sword and tried slashing her throat.

Until it was his hand that that was slit.

An arrow in the distance had been fired.

"Aahh!" Dil screamed while turning around from where the arrow came from.

Then a loud voice of a woman said

"What if the forest drinks YOUR blood?!"

Dil was ashened and turned to the voice's direction.

"Come out! You're strong, aren't you?"

A man's voice amongst the trees replied

"Surrender! Or forfeit your life!"

"You!—"

As Dil tried screaming, several arrows had cut his arms and legs.

"Aarrgg!" Dil howled.

While this was happening, Lina carried Yiss and paced away from Dil.

Enraged, Dil chased after them.

Until a figure clad in a hood and armour appeared before him, falling off a tree.

Stopped in his tracks, Dil swung his fist towards them.

The person blocked and punched hard on Dil's chest, sending him to the ground.

Dil tried crawling and snuck a berry into his mouth.

By the time the person tried attacking Dil again, he kicked their leg and the person fell one knee unto the ground.

Dil's eyes became more bloodshot and he swung his hand towards the person.

But this time, an arrow with a large end cut through and cut off Dil's hand.

Pouring his blood unto the grass.

He tightly held his arm and screamed.

Lina and Yiss had collapsed again and leaned against a tree.

While screaming in pain, another armoured and hooded figure came down a tree.

Now making it two figures' dark shadows cast over Dil.

"Will you stop now?" One of the figures asked with a feminine voice asked.

Then another in a masculine voice said

"Suite yourself!"

The man lunged his sword through Dil's head.

With all this Yiss began to cry.

"We're finished!" She said while two people turned to them.

They approached Lina and Yiss without saying a word.

In a cold voice, the woman said

"What are you doing here?"

The doctors didn't respond.

"Was it a fall out you had with this man?" The man asked.

But the women still didn't respond.

They individuals put down their hoods.

"Sorry you had to see all that." They said to the doctors.

The woman spoke up and said

"For the last time, what are you doing in a land like this."

Lina furrowed her eyebrows in frustration and said

"Until YOU say who you are, we're not talking."

The two individuals looked at eachother in disdain at Lina's words.

The man took a deep breath and spoke.

And his words sent a chill to the spines of Lina and Yiss

"We are from the Rogues."

***

In front of two assassins, there was the ghost of their victim before them.

He was in a tall black robe and cloak.

The fact that the assassins had put a sword into his neck with blood flowing, made their hearts sink.

"You people kill people for money."

The two men were confused.

Then one of them picked up their bow and aimed for the figure's heart.

Fired at full power, the arrow fell down to the floor after hitting the target.

They were terrified as the apparition slowly headed for them.

And he began to speak again

"How about you pay for the lives you've taken, in exchange for your life?"

Terrified, they sent several arrows towards him but they too fell to the ground.

Then the apparition ran at full speed towards them!

The assassins ran away in fear.

The archer's ankles were slit deeply open, which paralyzed his feet and sent him to the ground.

The other one kept running.

But the apparition didn't chase him.

He only picked up the archer's arrow and bow.

"Yes!" The assassin said with joy as he ran into the woods.

Taking a leap while filled in joy, an arrow came from the sky going through his head.

Sending him face flat and lifeless.

Slowly walking unto the dead man, the figure squatted and touched the man's head.

The figure put down his hood.

Tye looked up the trees and looked at his own body.

"Phew! All that money on the blacksmith was worth it!"

Tye said exhausted, sitting on the ground.

But work wasn't done.

He turned and looked at the archer that had his feet slit open.

The man tried crawling away in agony.

Until there was before him Tye whom set his feet on top of the man's hands.

"Please!—" The man tried begging but Tye interrupted him

"I don't get why wicked people speedily ask for mercy.

Only to do the same darn offence seconds later!"

The man began to weep.

Tye glared at him

"SHUT UP! SHUT UP!" Tye's rage increased by the second.

"So annoying! Do you know how uncomfortable it was to have that red sack under my clothing?

So that when your dead collegue stabs me, you fools think it blood?!"

"S-sir—"

Tye sent his feet to the man's nose before he could finish speaking.

"I'll ask you one at a time! Beat about the bush, and I'll give you to wolves after torture!"

The man was filled in pain and fear but remained silent.

"People like you are so useless" Tye said in annoyance.

And he began to stomp his foot on the man's head.

Over and over again.

The man's head began to bleed.

Before he could scream, Tye sent his foot towards his mouth.

And the man just laid on floor, filled with pain.

"Are you wicked to the point of remaining quiet?"

No response.

Which was the last straw for Tye.

He grabbed his sword and about to kill the man, the man said

"Noble! It's the noble!"

Tye stopped in his attempt and knelt on one knee to hear him out

"Which noble? Speak up!"

Tye was eager for his words.

The man continued

"The noble... He sent us to rid of anyone that tries and finds the Duke's daughter of the North-eastern region."

Tye's eyes widened in shock.

"But there haven't been much deaths.

Those that search for her get tired and give up."

The man shrugged, still in pain and said

"That's cause we just look for random people! People assigned by the Duke we hardly target!

And if we did, we just find ways to complicate their search—"

Tye, even more angered said

"So, where is this noble?"

The man shrugged

"The father to the Duke's daughter fiancé, of course."
