My head shot up, "what?"
He shrugged, "so tell me about this place. I want to hear all about it."
I chuckled even though it had no humor, "I am sure you are kidding. You don't want to know, trust me."
"I want to," he insisted.
I looked at him, noting the serious look on his face. He was staring at me expectantly,
"Okay,"
I cleared my throat, thinking of where to begin. I was reaching into the deepest part of me.
The place I avoided even in my loneliest hours. I had never planned on letting it out but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Rowan deserved answers but I wasn't sure if I had the strength to pull the memories out. It was too deep and painful to relive. I tried so hard to bury it at the back of my mind because I had nightmares just thinking about it.
