Trapped

Soren

I was still asleep in the chair. Watching someone you love fight for his life was more of a curse. Since I got here, there has not been a sign of recovery.

The doctors said there was activity in his brain wave and he had been in and out of sleep but never coherent. I still didn't give up hope that he would be strong.

I was tired of waiting, so I fell asleep next to him.

A throat cleared, yanking me from the restless haze of sleep.

I startled awake, my body tensing automatically as my mind caught up to the present. Blinking rapidly, I focused on the figure before me, Rowan.

He was awake.

He was sitting up on his bed as the doctors pointed a flashlight in his eyes for his check up. The nurses stood to the side as they took down notes.
