Tell me

A silence stretched between them.

Liam stood in the doorway, staring at the woman before him.

Evangeline. It had been a long time since he last saw her, but she looked just as he remembered—golden blonde hair cascading over her shoulders, striking black eyes that gleamed with warmth and mischief.

She had always been beautiful, but now, there was a certain maturity to her features, a subtle elegance that made her seem even more radiant.

Just as he was about to say something, Evangeline suddenly stepped forward and grabbed his cheeks.

She had to raise her legs slightly due to the height difference between them, but she didn't seem to care.

"H-Hey!" Liam protested, his voice muffled as she pulled at his face.

"Wow, is this really the person I know." she huffed, stretching his cheeks mercilessly. "Look at you. You've really changed, huh?"

Liam tried pushing her away, but her grip was annoyingly firm.
