What few moments that went by felt like hours. The shot of the Stellar Flare's cannon made impact with the bottom of the tower. Soul jumps through window first, and we are barley out behind him as the tower starts to crumble. The shot passes clean through the tower and impacts into the side of the island, causing a large chunk of rock to break off and fall into the water below.
We are now in a new situation. We have to be at least 20 stories off the ground and are about to fall in the water. The tower collapses all around us, falling toward the direction of the shot. It came in at an angle, so the tower is almost collapsing sideways in on itself. Everyone yells as we fall for what feels like three stories before the Pandoria arrives and hovers below, allowing us to land on top, then suddenly flies away
We enter the ship through the top hatch and make our way to an open seat. Melena calls me to the front of the ship.
"Demi. Sit there." She says pointing at the chair next to her, though no steering column is present.
"What am I doing here?"
"I need a second set of eyes. Soul needs to run jump calculations and he can't watch my back."
"Warning." Soul says, "Multiple ship detected exiting the Stellar Flare."
"Shit, they detected us."
"Why are they trying to kill us?" I ask.
"Who knows. I don't want to stick around and find out!"
Melena grabs a level in the center console and thrusts it forward. The ship gets a huge burst of speed as we fly just above the water, sending huge plumes of it into the air behind us. I look up into the sky to see three ships following behind us.
"They are on our six, Melena."
"I see them."
She rolls the ship to the left and pulls back on the steering column. The ship makes a hard left, dodging the flurry of bullets the ships release on us. She straightens out the ship before rolling right and pulling up again. More bullets crash into the water below. Some make impact with the ship.
"Dammit. How much longer, Soul?"
"Still working on it. You forget there is a black hole nearby."
Ahead, we spot a large formation of rocks sticking out of the water near a cliffside. Siren's fire across the ship. A warning of "missile lock" repeats over and over again. I look over my shoulder again. Two missiles fire at once, coming straight at us. Melena punches it again, heading straight for the rocks. She pulls the stick toward her hard, pointing the ship straight up, going through then over an arch rock. The sudden angle of the climb sends one of the rockets into a collision course with the arch, which it crashes into and collapses into the water. The other missile is still on us, however. Melena completes a full loop and re-centers back over the water. She attempts to weave through the pillars of rocks, trying to make the missile crash, but it was too agile.
"Soul! I don't think I can dodge this thing!"
"Just a little bit more time!" he yells
"I don't think we have it."
She rolls the ship again, hoping another sharp turn will cause the missile to crash, but it still trails behind us.
"Alright Melena, I am ready!"
"Finally!"
She pulls ups, putting the ship into full throttle. We climbed higher and higher, while firing counter measures to keep the missile away. The ships following us begin firing bullets again. More shots make impact with the hull, but Melena continues to climb. Two glowing rings appear around the ship increasing in brightness as time continues on. Space starts to warp and bend around us until suddenly, we launch, clearing the entire planet in seconds. A relieved Dillon arrives in the cockpit as we settle down. Melena rotates the chair to face him.
"Where to?" She asks.
"Take us home. We are finishing this."
