Rain fell silent. It wasn't hard to guess whom he was referring to, and that made her very curious. She realised how opposite they were.
Noticing her silence, Veer waved his hand, "Ah! We got off the topic. Anyway, what I meant was we don't always get what we want. We have to make life and the world bend to take it."
Rain nodded.
"What is your goal, Rain?" he asked, looking right into her eyes.
She considered it for some moments and then answered, "My goals aren't much different than yours. I just want a nice home, unlimited food and maybe a restaurant which will give me money."
"Heh, crazy how many people have simple goals yet they can't achieve them," Veer smiled. "The same goes for you. You have to fight for your goal, and if you fight, that means people will hate you. It's something inevitable."
"Yeah, people even hate you," Rain said, remembering some conversations she accidentally heard.
