"I'm going to be just fine, don't worry about me too much, Honey," I reassured Natasha, offering her a weak smile as I lay on the operating table, dressed in a sterile patient gown. The cold metallic surface underneath me sent a slight shiver up my spine, but I wasn't sure if it was the temperature or the anticipation of what was about to happen.
Natasha, however, wasn't buying my bravado. Her hands were trembling, her face contorted with suppressed emotions as she clutched onto my hand like a lifeline. Tears welled up in her eyes, her lips quivering as she tried to steady herself.
"You say that," she sniffled, wiping her cheeks with her free hand, "but I can't help it… I'm terrified, Azra." Her voice cracked as she squeezed my hand tighter.
Selene approached from behind her, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. "Nat, we've made sure Doc 1 is the best doctor in the world. You've seen how he operates—literally. There's nothing to worry about."
"I know," Natasha whispered, nodding, but her grip on me didn't loosen.
Scarlett leaned against the wall with her arms crossed, her usual confident smirk softened into something more comforting. "Nat, you saw it yourself. This guy brought a mutated tiger back from the brink of death. That thing was in far worse shape than Azra, and Doc 1 fixed it up like it was nothing."
Alfred, who had been standing quietly at the side, finally stepped forward. "Madam, I will personally oversee every aspect of the operation. I will be inside the room the entire time to ensure that everything goes smoothly."
That seemed to ease Natasha's nerves a little, but her eyes still glistened with unshed tears. "I just… I can't bear to see him in pain," she admitted. "He's been through so much already."
Inwardly I chuckled a little bit, this is just how loving, Natasha was, in reality, she had suffered so much, and much longer under the Old Azra machinations, but here she was, saying that I have gone through a lot and worried sick about me.
Doc 1, who had been standing by the medical monitors, spoke up in his calm, professional tone. "Madam Natasha, I can assure you that Sir Azra will experience minimal discomfort. With the advanced techniques I am employing, he will not only heal perfectly but also recover much faster than under traditional surgery methods."
Natasha exhaled shakily and nodded. "Okay. Okay, I trust you."
I chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. "Come on, Nat, you act like I'm dying. I'm getting a leg fixed, not going into battle."
She sniffled again but managed a small smile. "It just feels like that to me."
A few days ago, before we really start, naturally we decided to performed a few tests run, before Doc 1 would touch me, to make Natasha believed and trust Doc 1 medical prowess, to further prove Doc 1's capabilities, we had actually made him perform a trial surgery. Scarlett and Natasha had gone into the Mutated Forest, capturing a mutated tiger with multiple broken limbs and bones. Under their watchful eyes, Doc 1 had not only performed a flawless operation but had managed to completely restore the creature's mobility and kept it alive.
That had been the deciding factor for me. If he could fix something that damaged, I was certain he could handle a simple human leg surgery.
Naturally after that, the Mutated Tiger were turned into our new rug in the living room, Mutated Tiger is no longer a protected species in this world, in fact, they were the king of the jungle in this world in its truest form.
With a deep breath, I turned to Doc 1. "Alright, Doc. Should we start?"
Doc 1 nodded, his glowing blue eyes flickering momentarily as he processed my request. "Very well, Sir. Please count backward from ten as we administer the anesthesia."
"Ten… nine… eight…"
I felt warmth enveloping me, the sensation of gentle touches brushing against my face. I am becoming drowsy, drifting to sleepiness and fighting to keep awake, at this moment, I could still feel them. A lingering presence of those I loved.
"Come here," I murmured, pulling Natasha into a tight embrace. She trembled against me, her breathing uneven.
"I know you're worried, but everything is going to be alright, okay?" I whispered before pressing a deep, lingering kiss on her lips.
Natasha bit her lip and pressed a kiss to my forehead. "I'll be right here when you wake up."
I gave her hand one last reassuring squeeze before I felt the cold sensation spread through my veins, my vision fading as the world around me blurred.
She exhaled shakily, nodding against my chest. "Okay… I'll be watching everything from the outside."
Scarlett, always playful yet loving, leaned closer as I motioned for her. She grinned as I planted a sweet kiss on her lips. "Chu~ Watch over her, okay, Babe?" I murmured.
She playfully tapped my forehead. "Alright, Babe. Just wake up quickly, alright? Don't worry about us, we'll be just fine."
Clearly already starting to like the intimacy, but still shyly to show them out in the open, that is just how Scarlett was, but she did not want to reject anything, she wants to be loved and she showed her affections in her own way.
Selene leaned beside me, her fingers gently tracing my cheek. "Don't worry about anything. I'll watch over everything. Just come back to us safely, alright, Darling?"
I smiled at her warmth, squeezing her hand. "I know. Keep the fort together, Darling. See you in a few."
Her thick English accents, and her elegant way of showing her love and care, is really charming, Selene knew how to make me feel at ease, I know that if it's her, she would keep her promise to me. With my wives sending me away with love and smiles, they finally stepped back, leaving the surgical room to Alfred, Doc 1, and Nurse 1.
Feeling like I was about to sank into the table, I took a deep breath. "Not gonna lie, Alfred, I feel a bit afraid," I admitted, chuckling weakly as Nurse 1 administered the anesthesia.
"It is normal to feel that way, Master," Alfred replied in his ever-calm manner. "After all, you are still human."
Doc 1's glowing eyes blinked as he adjusted the surgical settings. "Sir, we are ready to begin."
I nodded, exhaling slowly. "I guess I'll see you all when I wake up."
"Of course, Master," Alfred reassured me.
With one final glance at the ceiling, I whispered, "You may begin, Doc 1. Please take care of me."
And then, I drifted away, lost in the void of unconsciousness.
