Budapest, Széll Kálmán tér Station.
Samuel couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief as he heard Alexander's orders echoing through his earpiece. He turned his attention back to Széll Kálmán tér station.
He continued to watch the entrance using his binoculars, scanning the chaos and looking for other bat-like creatures.
Even inside the building, Samuel could hear the cries of survivors, people who'd been far enough away to escape the bats' shriek, but not far enough to avoid its effects.
They were still dazed, their ears ringing, their faces contorted in pain. Some were bleeding from their noses and eyes, their vision blurred, their bodies trembling. The shockwave had shattered the streetlights, leaving the front of the station shrouded in darkness. Even the headlights of cars, buses, and motorcycles had been destroyed, leaving the streets a dark maze. The only light came from the moon, casting a pale glow over the street, a faint luminary in the darkness.
But Samuel's binoculars had night vision, giving him a clear view of the scene. He saw his men lying on the ground, their bodies still, their faces pale.
His heart ached for them, for the loss, for their death without reason.
He scanned the street, his eyes searching for any movement, any sign of threat. And then he heard it. The sound of a car engine, a car starting, a car moving towards the station. His curiosity was piqued. 'Who would want to enter the station after what had just happened?' Samuel thought to himself.
He fixed his binoculars on the car, watching as it approached the station entrance. He saw the car come to a stop, its headlights shining briefly in the darkness before being extinguished. The door opened, and a figure stepped out.
Samuel's eyes widened, his breath catching in his throat. The figure was wearing a fox mask. He knew that mask.
It was the one that had been targeting the Lycans and vampires, the one they had been waiting for. It was their target, the entire objective of their mission.
Samuel froze as the masked figure looked directly at him.
"Impossible! How can he know I'm here?" Samuel thought, a wave of horror washing over him. He clenched his fist, cold sweat dripping from his forehead.
Samuel watched as the masked figure took a brief look towards him before entering the station, allowing him to breathe a sigh of relief, but it was only for a moment. He quickly turned his attention back to the car. As it began turning on again, he tried to see who was inside, but the car's windows were tinted, obscuring the occupants from view. He scanned the car for a plate number, but there was none.
"As expected," Samuel muttered, already expecting their targets to be meticulous, and wouldn't make mistakes that could reveal their identity. He knew it was a long shot, but he'd hoped to get some clues, to find out who they are.
"Sir, he's here or rather, they are," Samuel reported into his earpiece as the car vanished from his sight.

Budapest: 10 Minutes Ago
Lucian leaned back in the backseat of the car, eyes closed, his body relaxed, as if he were enjoying a leisurely drive. But his mind was far from at ease. He was acutely aware of the danger that lurked around them, the threats that could arise at any moment.
Then he felt a vibration in his pocket, the subtle hum of his phone. He opened one eye, a glint of amusement shining in it.
He reached for his phone, turned it on, and opened an application, a real-time surveillance feed from his laboratory.
He watched as the camera focused on a woman, her body strapped to an operating table, her eyes closed, her features pale.
"Deal! I'll lead the way, but I need to know how you are going to give me the ability to survive in the sunlight," a voice, clear and confident, said. The camera turned, and he saw the woman's eyes open, her gaze meeting the camera's lens.
"Huh," Lucian's eyes snapped open while scoffing, a smirk played on his lips.
He'd expected Selene to agree, after all, no vampire would refuse the ability to walk in sunlight and the freedom it offered, especially those who aren't born as a vampire.
Raizo, his eyes focused on the road, couldn't help but glance at Lucian in the rearview mirror. He had heard Selene's voice, her words echoing in the car.
"Don't you want to say anything to her? She might not agree later," Raizo said, his voice laced with concern.
Kim Yoo-ri, who sat beside him, turned to look at Lucian curiously.
"She will. No vampire can resist the temptations of walking under the sun," Lucian said, his voice filled with confidence. "Let's just focus on our mission," he added, his gaze returning to the road ahead, turning off his phone.
"Are you even sure that they're there?" Kim Yoo-ri asked, her voice filled with doubt, her fingers twitching, her instincts urging her to fight.
"Yes. We don't need to kill them this time. Just get enough attention for Alexander's soldiers to appear," Lucian said, his voice serious, his eyes focused on the road ahead. Their objective was not the Lycans, but the Cleaners. They needed to learn about their base of operations, to find Alexander. He was the key to their plans.
Kim Yoo-ri couldn't help but smile. She loved a good fight. She was tired of being cooped up in an office, of being a CEO, of being confined to a desk. She was a warrior, a predator, and she always longed for the thrill of the hunt.
Raizo, who had been watching the exchange with a sense of amusement, shook his head. He knew Kim Yoo-ri too well.
Just as they continued to drive, Lucian's eyes narrowed, a sharp glint in them. His silver irises flickered before they glowed, his pupils turning golden yellow.
He focused ahead, his senses alert. His right hand rose, a silver flame-like aura emanating from it, encasing the car in a protective shield. The car came to a sudden halt, the engine sputtering to a stop.
Raizo and Kim Yoo-ri shared a quick glance, a silent communication passing between them. They knew what this meant. They unbuckled their seatbelts, their movements were fast and swift.
They reached for their weapons, drawing their M6D pistols from their sides. While Raizo preferred his katana, kusarigama, or shurikens, and Kim Yoo-ri favored her claws, they both knew Lucian's pistols were far more lethal weapons they'd both diligently learned to use.
Raizo and Kim Yoo-ri scanned their surroundings, their eyes narrowed, their senses on high alert.
Then, they heard it. A deafening shriek, a wave of sound that seemed to tear through the air, a sonic assault that shattered the glass and mirrors of cars and buses around them. They felt something hit their car with a thud, a heavy impact that sent a shudder through their bodies.
Even with the silver aura protection, they could hear the muffled shriek, a sound that sent chills down their spines, even they can feel it can threaten their lives.
Lucian frowned as he focused towards the front and with his keen sight, he already saw Marcus and two other bat-like creatures. Although Lucian was slightly surprised that Marcus had turned into a hybrid like in the movie, he was expecting Marcus to appear but was shocked to see the two bat-like creatures. 'Are they like him?' he wondered, unsure if Marcus possessed the same sonic shriek in this world.
"Now that probably caught their attention," Kim Yoo-ri said, a raised eyebrow giving away her amusement. Lucian lowered his hand, and the silver aura around the car disappeared. The sounds of wails and cries for help from the people outside on the street and in the vehicles filled the air. They heard the sound of vehicles crashing into each other, the sound of destruction.
"This becomes much bigger than making noise," Raizo said, his voice filled with anger and frustration. He looked at the innocent children who had died.
Lucian observed the scene outside. He saw the chaos, the devastation, the pain. His face remained impassive, his expression cold. He was a leader, a strategist, a man of action. He knew that he could save some, that he could protect a few more cars like theirs. But he chose not to. He didn't care about those who weren't connected to them. He had been trained to be ruthless, to be cold-hearted.
He was destined to be the Tōryō of the Ozunu clan, a position that demanded hard choices, uncompromising decisions. But even so, he couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy. He heard, with his elf's keen hearing, the cries of innocent children, injured and screaming for help.
Lucian turned away from the window, his eyes closing as he canceled out the noise around him, blocking out the cries, the wails, the sounds of destruction. His mind began to calm. He knew what had to be done.
"Drop me off up front the station, while you two complete the mission," he ordered, his voice cold, flat, emotionless.
Kim Yoo-ri sighed. She glanced around at the devastation. While she was comfortable with violence and killing, always targeting those who deserved it, this was different. 'Is this even allowed?' she wondered, considering the scale of the destruction. She knew little about the rules of the supernatural community, but even she wasn't foolish enough to ignore the consequences of this much chaos in the world.
Raizo clenched his hands tightly around the steering wheel. He was furious, his anger burning within him. He wanted to go out there, to fight, to punish those who had caused this. But he knew that their mission was important. It was connected to the rise of their clan. He had to control his emotions, to focus on the task at hand.
Lucian remained silent. He felt a storm brewing within him, a storm of fury. He could hear Cortana's voice, a voice that was usually calm, composed, that guided him to the light, but now, it was filled with rage.
'Kill them. Kill them all,' Cortana hissed, a venomous anger that Lucian had never encountered before. She had always been protective of him, of his companions. But now, she just wanted to destroy Marcus and the others. She saw everything that had happened outside. She knew the cost of Marcus's actions.
The car swerved through the chaos of the street, dodging wrecked vehicles, coming to a stop in front of the subway station.
Lucian opened his eyes, his gaze cold, his face devoid of emotions. He reached for his energy blade handle, his fingers grasping the cool metal, and two M6D pistols.
"Do we have UV ammunition?" he asked, his voice low. He knew that Marcus wasn't immune to sunlight, even as a hybrid.
But he wasn't the one that packed the weapons, he ordered Kim Yoo-ri to do it.
"UV bullets, yes," Kim Yoo-ri replied, "but we didn't pack any UV bombs." She offered him a pistol magazine.
Lucian took the magazine, his fingers nimble and swift. He pressed the release button on his pistol, the magazine ejecting with a metallic click.
He dropped the empty magazine into his pocket and inserted the new one, his movements fluid and precise. He checked the chamber of the pistol, a single click confirming that the weapon was loaded.
He opened the car door, his eyes flashing with a mixture of emotions as he looked at the corpses on the ground.
Lucian's gaze was fixed, his face impassive, but his voice, a low, controlled whisper, left no room for doubt.
"After completion, follow in. Make sure they can't escape."
Raizo's eyes flashed with fierce light, a dark determination filling his gaze. Kim Yoo-ri smirked, her lips curving upward in a cruel, eager smile.
Lucian put on his mask, the smooth surface covering his face, concealing his identity, his emotions.
He stepped out of the car, pushing the door closed behind him.
When he felt something observing him. He turned his head slightly, with his keen eyes. He saw Samuel, the leader of the Cleaners.
Lucian simply turned around and started walking towards the subway station.
He pressed the side of his mask, connecting to a communicating device.
"Red brick building beside the station. Complete the mission. Quickly," he said, descending the stairs at a deliberate pace.
•-----•-----•-----•-----•
From the car, Raizo and Kim Yoo-ri heard Lucian's instructions and saw the red brick building, its dull facade barely visible through the pre-dawn gloom.
They exchanged a brief, sharp glance—a silent acknowledgment that they needed to finish their job fast. Then Raizo expertly maneuvered the car through the chaotic street.
The rhythmic thump of the tires on the asphalt was a counterpoint to the rising tension in the air. As another building briefly blocked their view of the target, Kim Yoo-ri, her eyes already narrowed in anticipation, swiftly opening the door.
"I'll go first," she said, her voice barely audible above the city's low hum, as she efficiently donned her mask and launched herself from the moving vehicle, landing with a practiced grace that belied the speed of her exit.
Raizo, his gaze unwavering, continued to navigate the chaotic traffic, his movements precise and controlled.
He found a relatively secluded spot a block away, expertly parallel parking the car with a barely perceptible squeak of tires. With a practiced flick of his wrist, he pressed a concealed button on the car's dashboard, triggering a sequence of almost imperceptible changes.
The car's black paint shimmered, transforming into a deep, almost iridescent blue. The heavily tinted windows simultaneously cleared, revealing the interior.
Raizo then smoothly exited the vehicle, his movements fluid and silent, the katana strapped to his back with his figure a dark silhouette against the newly-blue car. His hand, steady as a rock, rested on the grip of his M6D pistol.
Raizo paused for a moment, looking around, before melting into the shadows, becoming one with the darkness as the hunt officially began.
