At a time when people didn't even know about there being any other race than the ones they were living with—the ones in their own world—one day, their worlds had an almost apocalyptic earthquake, and before they could tell that had happened, they found out that their worlds, which used to be spherical, had turned flat.

These worlds hadn't just turned flat; there were other things as well. The first thing was the fact that these worlds were now covered with unstable space barriers—something not even the most proficient with space can cross with ease.
