The eerie silence that followed the slaughter of the Shadowfang Wolves was only momentary.
Alex knew the boss of this floor was nearby, lurking within the dense, fog-ridden forest, waiting for its prey to enter its domain.
But he wasn't about to let that happen.
'No more testing the waters.'
He tightened his grip on his sword, channeling mana through his veins. The icy mist around him swirled unnaturally as if responding to his power. His eyes scanned the surroundings, his senses sharpening to their peak.
Then he felt it.
A presence.
A deep, guttural growl rumbled through the forest, and the ground trembled slightly.
From the shadows of the twisted trees, a hulking figure emerged.
Unlike the smaller wolves, this beast was massive, nearly the size of a house. Its fur was darker than night, its eyes gleamed with a malevolent intelligence, and jagged spikes ran along its back, pulsing with an ominous red glow.
