Breaking Barriers

Chapter: Breaking Barriers

Adam leaned back in his chair, his face a mask of frustration. Samuel's cold, clipped response hung in the air, each word like a lock sealing off possibilities.

"No," Samuel repeated, his voice devoid of empathy. "I can't release her."

Adam gets very upset and does not know what to do about Samuel because all the answers he has given so far are very infuriating, but he is trying to control himself.

Adam exhaled sharply, shaking his head. His thoughts raced, desperate to find a solution. There must be a way to free Christina. I can't waste time here arguing with him. Who knows what condition she's in?

He doesn't see any way out for now, but he must find one soon, as he can't allow his own creation to be shielded by Samul for much longer.

His gaze shifted, landing on Emily. She sat motionless, her head bowed and her face hidden behind a curtain of white hair.
