Chapter: A Shadowed Encounter

The chapter opens with Adam and Ani standing in a dimly lit alley. The faint glow of a distant streetlamp barely illuminates their surroundings, casting long, flickering shadows on the damp walls. The eerie silence is broken only by the occasional drip of water from a leaky pipe.

Adam's sharp gaze scans the darkness ahead. He knows something—or someone—is there. Ani, standing close to him, whispers nervously, "Adam, what's going on? Who are they?"

Adam doesn't answer immediately, his focus unbroken. His sharp senses detect subtle movements in the shadows ahead. "There's something familiar about them," he mutters, his tone edged with suspicion. "But I can't place it."

Suddenly, two faint figures emerge briefly in the dim light, their forms partially obscured by the darkness. Their movements are calculated, almost too fluid, as they respond to Adam's earlier challenge.
