Kitsuchi stared in shock at the dozens of Iwagakure shinobi lying lifeless on the ground, his face filled with disbelief.
He hadn't even seen what had happened.
All he registered was a flash of black light, and the next thing he knew, those troublemaking Iwa shinobi were clutching their throats and collapsing.
Too fast!
And these weren't just any shinobi—they were all Jonin!
But more than that…
How had Uchiha Mirai changed so drastically in just two and a half days?!
His long white hair, the cloak adorned with tomoe patterns, the mysterious staff in his hand, and the nine floating black orbs behind him...
Compared to their last meeting, something terrifying had happened to Uchiha Mirai.
"Kitsuchi, where is Onoki?"
Mirai's voice snapped Kitsuchi back to reality. He immediately lowered his head in fear and said,
"He is dead."
"This is his grave. I have already laid him to rest."
"But please rest assured, I bear no resentment toward you. Iwagakure will be your most loyal force..."
Before he could finish, Mirai raised his arm toward the grave.
"Shinra Tensei!"
The tombstone was blown away instantly, and the coffin beneath it shattered. Onoki's corpse was fully exposed.
Seeing this, Kitsuchi's face filled with despair.
As expected... Mirai had not forgiven them. Was Iwagakure truly doomed to annihilation?
But just as this thought surfaced, Kitsuchi's eyes widened in shock.
Under Mirai's gaze, Onoki's lifeless body gradually regained its color. His skin flushed, his chest rose, and within moments, breath returned to his lungs.
"Where… am I?"
Onoki slowly opened his eyes, glancing around in confusion.
Then, his face twisted in shock.
Why was he lying inside a coffin?
No, wait! He had died! How was he alive again?!
Before he could process it, a sharp black rod suddenly pierced through his heart.
Squelch!
Onoki, newly revived, died once more.

Dissatisfied with the result, Mirai activated Takamagahara once again, bringing Onoki back to life.
"Hah… What's happening?"
Onoki instinctively clutched his chest, shaken by the experience. Had he just been killed again?
Looking up, he met Mirai's cold gaze.
"Uchiha Mirai?"
Squelch!
This time, the black rod pierced through his throat.

Mirai resurrected Onoki once more.
"Wait a minute—"
"No, seriously—"
"What the hell are you trying to do—"
"Hey! Hey! HEY!!!"

Finally acquiring what he wanted, Mirai ceased his cycle of revival and execution.
The lifetime of knowledge and experience Onoki had regarding Dust Release surged into Mirai's mind in an instant.
At his current level, Dust Release was almost irrelevant. However, its applications in combat intrigued him—there was always more to learn about manipulating power.
Besides, Mirai had a habit of collecting abilities. If he could take it, why not?
More importantly…
He could always pass this knowledge on to others in the future.
A win-win scenario.
Meanwhile, Kitsuchi stood frozen, utterly dumbfounded.
He had just witnessed his father-in-law being revived and executed over and over again.
(T/N: Kitsuchi is not Ōnoki's son, but his daughter, Kurotsuchi, is Ōnoki's granddaughter. This means Kitsuchi married Ōnoki's daughter, making the former Tsuchikage his father-in-law.)
What… What was the meaning of this?
Was this what it meant to be strong? To utterly humiliate the weak?
Mirai paid no attention to Kitsuchi's shock. After experiencing the Dust Release firsthand, he pondered for a moment before deciding to revive Onoki once more.
The man had been the Tsuchikage for decades. Keeping him around would make controlling Iwagakure much easier.
Onoki's eyes snapped open, and this time, he immediately leapt out of the coffin, shouting,
"Wait! Just hold on a second!"
Seeing that Mirai wasn't making a move, Onoki exhaled in relief.
"What happened to you?" he asked, staring at Mirai in disbelief.
He had only been dead for a short time, but somehow, Mirai had transformed into something… different.
Mirai descended from midair, stepping closer to Onoki.
"I have ascended beyond mortal limits," he said coolly.
"I am now… a god."
Onoki fell silent.
If anyone else had said such an absurd thing, he would have scoffed.
But after experiencing Mirai's power firsthand—his ability to kill and resurrect at will—how could he deny it?
Kitsuchi, too, suddenly understood.
No wonder Mirai had left after his victory. He had been ascending.
After a long pause, Onoki finally spoke. "If you've become a god, then why revive me?"
"I rejected your offer. I led a rebellion against you. You should be furious with me."
Hearing this, Mirai chuckled.
"Why would I waste anger on a stubborn old man?"
Onoki was momentarily stunned.
He had never expected such an answer.
Perhaps, to Mirai, he really was nothing more than an old man.
"I'm in a good mood today," Mirai added, turning toward the Tsuchikage's office. "If you have questions, ask away."
Onoki and Kitsuchi exchanged glances before quickly following him.
At least now, Iwagakure's survival seemed assured.
As they descended the mountain path, Onoki asked, "Mirai, what exactly are your plans?"
"Why insist on unifying the shinobi world?"
"With your power, achieving peace shouldn't require such a bloody conquest. Isn't there an easier way?"
Mirai scoffed internally.
This was considered a massacre?
With the system's power at his disposal, the fact that he hadn't turned the shinobi world into a graveyard was already an act of mercy.
Of course, he wouldn't tell Onoki that.
After a brief pause, he answered, "A unified shinobi world can allocate resources more efficiently. A shared sense of identity will make society function more harmoniously."
"The bloodshed now is simply the price for a better future."
"Onoki, in due time, I'll reveal everything to you."
"The enemies we must face… are far more terrifying than you can imagine."
