Ch 24: Freya Vs. Claudia

To initiate the battle, she threw a sixth grade spell called "Rock Shot" toward Claudia. Even when she was busy fighting other people, Claudia was able to perfectly dodge this attack. But then immediately Freya cast the same spell again but with a hexa enhancement on it. Immediately six rock shots now went to attack Claudia.

But just like before, she effortlessly dodged four of them and cut the remaining two with her sword. Her footwork was immaculate and her swordmanship was impeccable. Freya was once again impressed by how amazing her skill as a warrior was.

By this sudden intervention, the soldiers from the Viscount's side were extremely surprised and had completely stopped moving. Claudia was also surprised by this but she was very quick to return back to her senses and immediately attacked the soldiers who had froze up.

With a look of displeasure on her face, Freya cast the 7th grade spell great rock wall to block Claudia's way. With just one sword slash Claudia was able to cut the wall easily. But by the sudden appearance of a wall, the soldiers were able to come back to their senses and moved away before Claudia could reach them. So they were able to save their lives.

If even after that the soldiers were unable to move away, Freya was going to let them die. People with this little battle awareness did not belonged in the battlefield. So after making sure that the soldiers were away from Claudia, she used a 9th grade spell to summon a Large Stone Golem and told it to attack Claudia.

This golem was definitely not strong enough to defeat Claudia as it was weaker then even the ancient golem that she had defeated in the forest ruins. But with its high defense, it should be able to buy some time. In the meantime, Freya immediately ordered all the soldiers to leave the battlefield to her and to move away. They would just get in her way if they stayed here.

The soldiers were familiar with Freya and had already seen how powerful she was. So they immediately followed her orders and moved away. But just as Freya was about to return her attention back to Claudia, a sudden sword slash came toward her. At the very last moment, Freya cast the 7th tier spell "Wind Rider" which was a stronger version of Wind Stroll and was able to move away from the trajectory of the attack but it still grazed her a little bit.

Freya's body was actually always protected with two forbidden spells called "Indestructible Maiden" and "Body of Vulcan". Both of these spells were from the Forbidden Grimoires of Indomitability. Indestructible Maiden was a spell that created a powerful self repairing barrier around her body. This was a spell that only pure virgins were able to cast so Freya had spend a lot of effort to master this spell when she was in the special divine space.

As for Body of Vulcan, it made her body extremely powerful and invulnerable to most attacks. So with the protection of these two spells, Freya was completely unharmed from the previous attack. Actually if she was not attacked with a powerful attack above the S rank, she would be perfectly fine. So Freya was able to withstand any and all attack made by Claudia without taking any damage.

But getting grazed by one of her attacks was a humiliating thing for Freya because of this exact reason. Even though she was overwhelmingly stronger than her, still she allowed Claudia to graze her. But instead of feeling any anger, Freya was just impressed by Claudia's ability.

Actually Claudia was still fighting the golem. After becoming sure that the golem was not strong enough to put her life in danger, instead of destroying the golem as soon as possible, Claudia decided to take it easy and to find an opportunity to turn the tables.

Then when Freya was not paying attention to her, at that exact moment, Claudia used a sword art called "Sky Rend" and tried to injure or even kill her. This was the evidence of Claudia's excellent battle sense.

After this, Freya decided to get serious. She was still going to restrict herself but she would not get distracted anymore. Immediately Freya cast another spell and this time it was a 11th grade spell that summoned an "Adamantine Guardian". This was an extremely powerful defensive summon and it was going to protect Freya while she was preparing her next summon.

Claudia had already destroyed the stone golem and had started fighting the Adamantine Guardian. But the Adamantine Gaurdian was stringer than the golem and its defensive ability was also top notch. So Claudia was not able to easily destroy it.

Using this time, Freya summoned two more times back to back with 12th tier spells. First creature that she summoned was a powerful beast called "Scarlet Flame Wolf King". It was a majestic looking wolf with shiny red and orange fur. This beast was extremely powerful and in terms of combat strength, it was also in the AA rank which was the same as Claudia.

And the second creature that Elena had summoned was a lightning type elemental spirit called "Greater Pixie of Lightning". This spirit was specialised in using lightning to paralyse and weaken it's target. So it was a very good partner for the Scarlet Flame Wolf King who mostly depended on overwhelming firepower to destroy their opponent.

Against two opponents whose power were equal to her own or greater, Claudia started to have a hard time. The Adamantine Guardian was still there protecting Freya so she was not able to attack her either. If this went on, Claudia was sure that her defeat was just around the corner.

So to turn things around, she decided to go all out and take a gamble. She started to fight defensively and waited for gap in the assault of her opponents. After withstanding the powerful flaming breath attack from the red majestic wolf, an opportunity appeared before her.

Claudia immediately took advantage of this opportunity and used a skill called "Fleet Footed Dash". With this skill she was extremely fast and almost teleported before Freya with her sword swinging down. But this time Freya was ready and perfectly dodged the attack with another wind rider boosted jump.

And as now Claudia was perfectly before her, Freya cast a 11th grade spell called Thunder Maelstrom. As Claudia was fully committed to this attack and had lost the gamble, she had no way to dodge it. So the powerful thunder maelstrom spell engulfed her and she was not able to withstand it with her tired body and she lost consciousness. The last thought that Claudia had in her mind was worry about her future and admiration for Freya's strength.

So just like that, the battle came to an end with Freya's overwhelming victory.
