Night raid [3]

In the dark, Brutus watched as the battle unfolded.

Compared to his standards as a Lord realm cultivator in the future, this battle seemed like mere child's play but with his current body, his life could be threatened if he approached it recklessly.

He already accepted that he was no longer a 7th realm cultivator, but now a weak qi gathering realm cultivator, this was why he hid in the dark, observing.

Brutus did not give a damn about any of the cultivators here tonight, he just wanted to make a profit.

The logic was simple.

Chief Omar's group was winning. As a businesswoman, Emily easily saw this and was why she flexibly changed her loyalties to the winning side.

But joining the winning side too would not benefit Brutus, it would only make him a subordinate to an incompetent qi gathering realm cultivator.

This left only helping Leah as the option.

Apart from short term gains, another reason why Brutus decided on helping Leah was because he knew the future. 'Getting an ally like her in preparation for the future is an investment I'm willing to bleed for'.

Brutus counted his enemies. 'One, two, three…'

He didn't count Emily because she was flexible.

'The only reason why she supports Chief Omar is because she thinks he is winning. If the chief begins losing, she will switch sides again just as easily'.

Brutus' eyes gleamed. 'Simple,' he thought. 'It's just exactly like in my previous life, no surprises'.

'I can deal with this'.

'She just needs to become a little more desperate'.

Chief Omar frowned as he watched the ongoing battle, seeing as Leah stalled, kiting her opponent. "Pirate, what is taking so long?"

"Do you need help?"

"NO!" The pirate screamed. "That is not part of our agreement, keep your hands out of this! She's mine!"

Chief Omar stared coldly. "But you're taking too much time. If I knew I was getting into bed with such an incompetent ally, I should have declined".

"NO! Please, give me some more time, she'll die soon".

5 minutes passed, 8 minutes passed…, and then Chief Omar finally lost his patience. "Edward, join the brat, kill that bounty hunter!"

"Yes chief".

This time, the pirate could not refute. Having fought her for 8 minutes, he was frustrated, she was just too strong. 'No wonder he was able to kill brother'.

Edward, the second cultivator of Vulva Village just like the pirate was a body cultivator. He had a giant sword that was strapped to his back.

At this moment, after receiving orders from his chief, he untied the ropes holding the giant sword and with a thud, the sword hit the ground.

Lifting it up with both arms, he charged into battle!

"Earth wall!"

BOOM!

Desperate, Leah cast another earth wall spell only for it to shatter in countless pieces as Edward cut through it with his deadly power.

And from that moment on, Leah's life began hanging on a thread.

With help, the pirate became emboldened, pouncing in to tear his prey apart. Leah fought desperately, trying to save her life but every second since Edward joined the battle, she started getting and accumulating injuries.

A minute later…

Bam!

Edward kicked Leah on the stomach, sending her flying across the debris of the brothel's ruin as she collapsed on the ground, coughing blood.

"Ugh…!" She groaned in pain but springing back up, she tried to escape only for the pirate to block her on the other side, showcasing his explosive speed.

Leah was desperate. 'Am I going to die here?!'

'Arghh! I can't die like a pussy! I must be strong!'

'But I don't want to die!' She felt an existential crisis as her life slowly drew to its end with every clash and every spell that she casted.

In her moment of desperation, that was when a deep voice reverberated.

"I can help you, and you will become indebted to me for life".

"All you have to do is say yes and you get to live to see another day, you only have so long to make your decision".

"Who are you?!" Leah screamed.

In her moment of desperation, she had been grasping at strays, hoping for a miracle, anything, and as soon as she heard that voice she responded desperately.

"Me?"

"I'm nobody, I'm just a man who fulfills women's wishes".

"You can call me genie".

Hearing that sentence, Leah's eyes widened and then she screamed. "Yes!"

Immediately after that scream, in his hiding, Brutus' profanity system lit up with a new notification.

----

[Your Lord Realm soul that is far stronger than your target has subdued her weak soul, forcing her into a soul contract!]

[You have signed a soul contract with the female, Leah Gridenwald!]

[You have unlocked a new system mission: Save Leah Gridenwald!]

[Mission Reward: Cultivation XP!]

----

Leah felt like something changed in her but she could not tell.

On the other side, Brutus grinned, and then he finally moved. Kicking the ground, he shot out of his hiding spot like a rocket!

Bam!

[You have accessed system inventory!]

[You have retrieved cultivation relic: Blade of Chaos!]

Brutus was so fast that he left a blur.

The pirate could not even read his movement in the night. As a 7th realm cultivator in the future, though he didn't have that power now, Brutus still had the combat experience and competence of a Lord.

Feeling his threat, Edward the cultivator from Vulva Village dashed back immediately and that was what saved his life but as for the pirate?

Clink!

It was like a subtle sound of glasses clinking in a cocktail party.

It was no regular cocktail party though, it was cocktail party of cultivators and it involved blades, life and death.

When Brutus moved, he moved like the Lord of Profanity, to kill.

The pirate tried to block with his twin daggers at the last moment, trying to protect his neck where Brutus aimed for but when the Blade of Chaos clashed with the pirate's daggers, they shattered like glass.

"…!" The pirate's eyes widened.

The last thing he saw was the unfathomable depths of those ruthless eyes. They were not the eyes of a normal cultivator at all, but those of a killer.

Thud!

Only after the pirate's body hit the ground, dead did the other cultivators finally react to what just happened.

'What?!'
