Chapter 3

Someone's knocking on my door.

"Coming!" I yelled out, logging out of 'Eternal Dawn' and shutting down my computer. I can't let anybody know that I game..! 

I walked over to the door, and turned the knob. It was the landlord.

"Dearie, you know how your floor only has 2 apartments, and you're currently the only one living on this floor?"

".. Yes? Are you telling me there's going to be someone moving in next door?"

"You see through me dearie.. precisely. I wanted to tell you in advance, they'll be moving in this Thursday."

What day is it? I pulled my phone from my pocket, turning it on. It's Wednesday.. they're moving here tomorrow!?

"Thanks for telling me, I'll try my best to make them welcome." I bowed, shutting the door.

I should prepare some gifts, or food. That's what you do when someone new moves in next-door, right?

.. I am starting my new job tomorrow though. Looks like I won't meet the new mysterious neighbour until late in the evening.

Hmm.. I'm not tired yet but I need to sleep to wake up early for work.. let's find some music to listen to.. wait. I'm still friends with that annoying bastard on that game.. whatever. I'll remove him as a friend when I get online.

I walk over to my bed, and cover myself with the duvet.

Let's just sleep away whatever happened today. Let's look forward to work and the new neighbour moving in next door.

I seriously should change my alarm, I jump out of bed whenever I hear 'By the Seaside'.. But I suppose that's actually a good thing, I'm early for work. Too early. I have 42 minutes before work starts. 

I grabbed my briefcase I had packed from my desk and walked over to the elevator and pushed the button.

I waited patiently by the elevator, maybe I should have taken the stairs instead? I am on the 7th floor though..

The elevator doors opened, and there was someone there. Is this my new neighbour..?

"Hello!" I smiled, waving slightly with my free hand, my other hand was clutching onto my briefcase.

I watched as he rolled his eyes and walked off. Rude much? He didn't even say hello back.

Looks like my neighbour isn't the type to socialise.. He didn't bring any stuff with him.. strange. Maybe's he's just scoping out the apartment?

I pressed the ground floor button, and waited for the elevator to take me all the way down. I exited the building, and looked up to the sky. It's seriously cloudy, looks like it's going to rain today. Good thing I made sure to bring an umbrella with me.

I pulled up maps onto my phone, and typed up "Cheon Company". It wasn't that far from my apartment, so I have enough time to pick up some snacks, or coffee.

I typed up "cafe near me" on my phone and found one fairly close to the company building. I walked down the alleyway it was in and found the correct shop. It was small, and connected with the shop beside it. When I opened the door to the cafe, I was overwhelmed by the aroma of coffee beans. 

"Hello, what can I get you?"

The lady at the front smiled, and lord, she must have been an idol in her past life with how brightly she smiled.

"Can I have a vanilla latte.. and marshmallows on top, please?"

"Okay sir, that'll be 5.45!"

I swiped my card, and she handed me a receipt and a number. I wait for my order in one of the empty seats. I'm the only customer here.. where are the rest of the customers?

I pondered over it for a while, until the lady read out my number. I picked up my drink and sat back down in the same spot. 

It tastes pretty good.. I should leave a review for this place, it's so close to my workplace as well. I'll make sure to come here as often as I can since they have a lot of great options on their menu.. especially this latte I'm drinking right now..

The door opened, and the bell rang, someone was coming into the cafe.

"Hey, Can I get hot chocolate please?"

"You rascal, make it yourself." 

She shushed him, and ushered him into the back.

That guy looked really familiar though. But I only caught a glimpse of his side-profile..

I have to head, I have 10 minutes before work starts and I don't want to be late for my first day.

"Thank you for the latte, I'll make sure to leave you a good review online." I bowed.

"You don't have to bow. That's too much. A lot of people around here need to have the same amount of respect you have." She laughed.

.. Is that supposed to be a dig at someone?

After a while, a guy came out of the back holding a hot cup.

"You-!" He shouted, dropping his cup. The lady quickly grabbed his hot cup, placing it on the counter. "Are you following me!? You stalker!"

".. Who are you?"

Have I seen this guy before? He does look similar to the guy I saw early in the morning.. maybe this is my neighbour..?

He froze, and started to heavily blush.

"S-Shut up-!" He yanked the hot cup off the counter and dashed out the door. The door slammed behind him, and I watched him run from the cafe's windows.

"Sorry, that's my son. He's quick to get angry. But he's a very considerate boy. How do you know each other?"

"I'm not sure we know each other well.. he looks like my new neighbour? Is your son moving into an apartment?"

"Ah, you're his neighbour then. My son is moving into the apartment close by. Do you have work? Better not be late on your first day."

"Right, let me check.." I pulled out my phone.. I have 6 minutes..!

"Sorry, I have to head! I have to get to work, thank you!" I yelled out, waving as I rushed out the door to the 'Cheon Company' building.
